We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Haigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We believe the most important factor behind our success is taking good care of our couples and providing them with personalized service.. We are here to provide an excellent photography and videography experience. Most people are not accustomed to being in front of a camera all of the time, and we believe it is really important for you to feel comfortable on one of your most important days. That is why we take steps from the beginning to get to know you as a couple. We provide an engagement session with all of our wedding packages, and it allows us all to get to know each other. We have found that this makes a huge difference on the wedding days, and allows couples to feel completely comfortable and fully themselves. We really try to provide a laid back and fun atmosphere, and couples really appreciate that. At this point, much of our business comes from referrals from past clients and other wedding professionals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are great at creating candid and authentic images and films. We want people to feel at ease in front of our cameras, and most of all want them to look back and say, “that is exactly how we felt on that day” and “those photos/videos are 100% us”. We also pride ourselves in capturing couples in Colorado’s beautiful landscapes.

Arriving at where we are today has been a process. As the photographer, I have worked on honing my craft, and becoming a more confident photographer and editor. As a former Division I athlete, I am no stranger to committing to something and working to achieve a goal. That mindset has pushed me to become a better photographer every time I take my camera out. However, I am always looking for ways to improve and tell peoples’ stories better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love living in Fort Collins! It has so much to offer. If we had a friend visiting for a week (and we didn’t have shoots scheduled), I would take them on lots of hikes – probably Horsetooth, Lory State Park and up the Poudre Canyon. Then we would probably hit up some of our favorite local breweries like Maxline and Odell. We might take a short drive to Rocky Mountain National Park and either go for a hike and/or drive Trail Ridge Road. We might go for a quick float down the Poudre River, and then enjoy some dinner and drink somewhere in Old Town or just at our house.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! Forest Picture Company is co-owned by myself and my husband, Zac Haigh. He is the one who actually started our company. It originally began as a commercial video production company in Lawrence, KS. Since then, we have created two brands – the wedding photo/video side and the commercial production side. Zac is an incredible video producer and business person. He has worked really hard to hone is craft and help make our business what it is today.

I would also like to shoutout to every single couple who has ever trusted us to photograph and/or film their wedding. It is such an amazing honor to get to witness your most special moments, and we could only have made it this far with your help.
