We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Kear and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am a huge believer in taking risks when it comes to my career. The universe loves to support those who take a leap for something they love! Life is too short. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take! What’s the worst thing that could happen? You fail? Well then get up and try again. It’s all about persistence and resilience. If you combine your passions and your talents to serve others, you WILL succeed!    

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a home stager, interior designer, and organizer. I work mostly with real estate agents to make a property look its best before it goes on the market.

My background in social work lends itself beautifully to this profession. Buying and selling a home can be incredibly stressful and I’m able to ease that stress for my clients. This is where I feel I shine in this industry- I can be the calm in the storm and have a level of professionalism I find many others don’t have. It’s been a difficult journey but always rewarding! As I grow wiser, I find myself choosing who I want to work with rather than accepting anyone or lowering my standards. You can’t please everyone and you have to know your worth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them hiking in Boulder, hot springs in Crestone, hike Mt Sneffels in Ouray. In Denver, a rooftop patio for drinks, dinner at Charlie Brown’s, Red Rocks for a concert, shopping on Broadway at some vintage stores, Casa Bonita!   
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Beyond my mom for always encouraging me by saying “Amy, whatever you have put your mind to you always make it happen!” I feel the shoutout goes to me! I was an MSW (master level social worker) for nearly 20 years and could barely pay the bills as a single mom. I created this business knowing I had other talents and could combine my love of helping others with making their homes look amazing! When I made this bold change, I was rewarded immediately which made me realize I was on the right path.
