Meet Anastasia Ovanessoff-housley | Floral Designer & Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia Ovanessoff-housley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anastasia, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because I have always thrived in artistic environments. Ever since I was a child, I was drawn to creating—whether it was drawing, crafting, painting or finding new ways to express ideas visually. That passion never faded and as I grew I realized I wanted a career that would keep me engaged, constantly learning, and challenged me to think outside the box. Working with my hands and bringing ideas to life is incredibly fulfilling, and the ever-evolving nature of the creative industry ensures that no two days are ever the same. It’s a space where I feel most myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Juniper & Honey Designs was built from a passion for creativity, artistry, and the belief that florals can tell a story. Starting my own business wasn’t easy—I had to (and still have to!) navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and learn how to balance creativity with strategy while building a brand that feels personal yet professional. Through dedication, community support, and an unwavering love for my craft, I’ve grown this business into something truly special to me. It continues to grow everyday and although we are only a few years old, we continue to evolve into a brand that defines us.
What sets us apart is our approach: we don’t just design flowers; we create experiences. Every floral piece is crafted with thoughtfulness, ensuring it reflects the vision and personality of our clients. I’m most proud of the relationships we build—whether it’s with couples on one of the biggest days of their lives, fellow business owners in our community, or clients who trust us to bring beauty into their spaces.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned? To stay adaptable and embrace change. Owning a business is a constant evolution, and rather than fearing it, I’ve come to see it as an opportunity for growth. I want the world to know that Juniper & Honey is about more than just flowers—it’s about connection, creativity, and bringing beauty to life in a way that feels meaningful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, the first place I’d take them is South Broadway, especially on a sunny day. Our street has such a vibrant energy, with cute boutique shopping, unique small businesses, and some of the best patios for enjoying food and drinks. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, browsing vintage shops, or just people-watching, it’s the perfect way to soak in the local charm.
Another must-visit is Golden, CO, specifically Clear Creek, which is one of my absolute favorite spots. There’s something so refreshing about being by the water, whether it’s just relaxing, taking a scenic walk, or dipping your feet in on a warm day. Golden has such a laid-back, outdoorsy vibe, and it’s the perfect escape from the city without going too far.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unwavering support of my parents. Throughout my entire life, they have encouraged me to pursue what makes me happy, never pressuring me to follow a conventional path but instead pushing me to embrace my creativity and passion. Their belief in me was a crucial part of getting my first business off the ground, and I am endlessly grateful for their guidance, love, and encouragement.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to my husband, Nick. From the very first day we started dating, he never hesitated to support me in every way possible—whether that meant helping me chase my dreams, standing by me through the highs and lows, or simply being my constant source of encouragement. Now, eight years later, he remains one of my biggest and most unconditional supporters. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life and in this journey.
