Meet Andrew Perkett | Realtor & Owner of COS Hauling

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Perkett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process really was simple: I discovered a need in our community, saw an opportunity, and wanted to meet that need. Owning a business has given me and my family the opportunities to do the things we love and be present with each other. Between meeting a need in the community and creating opportunity for my family, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Our entrepreneur journey started when we began investing in real estate in 2021. It was so impactful by setting us on a wealth journey that I decided to get my real estate license. As a realtor, I saw a need for affordable junk removal and hauling, so decided to start a business with that focus as well. It definitely wasn’t easy, but nothing that’s really worth our time is easy. The right motivations and disciplined had to be in front of me at all times to carry through all of these changes and new opportunities. I’ve learned a lot, but most importantly, that we find opportunities when we’re open to seeing the needs in our community. Too often, I think people want to start the next, big, shiny thing, but miss out on opportunities right in front of them. No matter what the career is, whether it’s shiny or not, it can always carry a purpose. My real estate business helps people step into home ownership who never thought they could. Our junk removal business doesn’t just remove junk, it removes stress from people’s lives every day, and we love that!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d probably go straight to the mountains! I have some favorite spots that we would hit on the way. But we would definitely go down to McGinty’s in Divide for a burger. Or stop at Folklore in Colorado Springs. However, nothing beats camping in the good old Rocky’s!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All my family deserves the credit. Growing up, my parents empowered us to be great. Most importantly now is my wife. She has offered relentless support in this journey.
