We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Fuller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be one of resilience, faith, and the relentless pursuit of dreams, no matter the obstacles. I hope people remember me as someone who refused to give up, even when faced with challenges that seemed insurmountable, from a debilitating back injury to postpartum depression. My journey from chronic pain and emotional struggle to becoming a 44-year-old competitive adult gymnast and a participant on American Ninja Warrior embodies my belief that it’s never too late to reclaim your life and passions.

I want to be remembered for my dedication to helping others, especially mothers, rediscover joy and strength through fitness and self-care. My goal is to inspire others to believe that having children doesn’t mean giving up on their dreams and that by taking care of themselves, they enrich the lives of their families.

My story of revival through faith and fitness, along with my commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible at any age, is what I hope to leave behind as my legacy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work blends fitness instruction, gymnastics and ninja athletics, and motivational speaking, all with the goal of inspiring others to rediscover joy and strength through physical activity. What sets me apart is that I’m living proof that it’s never too late to chase your dreams and reclaim your life, even after significant setbacks. After a 27-year retirement from gymnastics, I made my comeback 3 years ago. At 44, I’m currently the oldest competitive gymnast in Colorado for the NAIGC, competing in all-around events in both women’s and men’s events. I have also made history as the oldest female participant from Colorado on American Ninja Warrior. However, my journey has been far from easy.

I faced numerous challenges along the way, from a serious car accident that left me with a broken back to the emotional and physical toll of postpartum depression. These obstacles could have easily kept me from pursuing my passions, but I chose to fight through them. A turning point for me was embracing Christ and choosing faith over fear, which not only helped me heal but also allowed me to find strength and purpose in my challenges.

I’m most proud of being able to help other mothers prioritize self-care and fitness, showing them that having children doesn’t mean giving up on their own dreams. I love working with women and helping them rediscover their inner strength, which in turn enriches their families’ lives.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way include the importance of persistence, self-love, and leaning on the support of loved ones. My family, friends, and students have been my biggest cheerleaders, and their encouragement has been invaluable. I’ve learned that setbacks are just setups for comebacks, and that faith, determination, and community can help you overcome anything.

What I want the world to know about me and my story is that no matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to take back control, pursue your passions, and push beyond your limits. My brand is all about resilience, empowerment, and the belief that fitness can be a powerful tool for transformation at any age.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends visit Colorado, I always start with a trip to Winter Park. In the winter, we’d hit the slopes for skiing, and in the summer, we’d take the gondola up the mountain and hike down, taking in the stunning views. After that, we’d either bike or snowshoe along the Fraser River Trail and wrap up the day with dinner at Deno’s and dessert at Charlie’s. Back in Highlands Ranch, I would have them come dance with me in my Zumba class at HRCA and then I’d take them to experience the 5280 adult gymnastics class or a fun session at Ninja Nation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everything I’ve accomplished has been possible only because of the love and support from my family, my incredible students, and friends. They’ve stood by me, cheering me on every step of the way.
