Meet Angela Schreffler | Founder and Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Schreffler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Centennial Nonprofit Consulting, LLC exclusively works with nonprofit organizations on strategic planning, fundraising, and organizational development to increase their impact in their communities and with the people they serve. I want to harness my over 20 years in the nonprofit sector to help organizations build their capacity so they can serve more people. My clients are organizations from across the state including Antonito, Saguache, Sheridan, Fort Collins, and Castle Rock. I take pride in working with organizations that a lot of other nonprofit consultants won’t. Many of my clients are rural, social justice, and/or small- to medium-size organizations. Many times, I am helping clients who are stuck or going through a transition, such as a leadership transition or a loss of a large funding source.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder of Centennial Nonprofit Consulting, LLC, where I partner with nonprofit organizations to strengthen their operations, clarify strategy, and build long-term sustainability. With over twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I specialize in supporting organizations with strategic planning, board development, financial management, fundraising, and operational effectiveness.
As a consultant, I bring a collaborative, iterative, and practical approach—helping leaders identify challenges, explore solutions, and put plans into action. Before launching Centennial Nonprofit Consulting in 2023, I spent a decade as Chief Operating Officer at a large Colorado-based nonprofit organization. In that role, I coached hundreds of charitable organizations on growth and impact. I have also led nonprofits in the areas of environmental advocacy and community mobility, and served on multiple boards of directors, giving me first-hand insight into the realities nonprofit leaders face.
I hold a master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management, have completed executive leadership programs through Employers Council and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, and am the past-chair of the board of directors of Chinook Fund.
I am most proud of how quickly I had clients after I launched my business (four months!). My years of being in the sector led me to be very connected and rooted in the nonprofit community. People already knew that I was trustworthy, dependable, and had a diverse set of skills. I am also proud that almost all of my clients come to me through word of mouth or are repeat clients. Launching my own business hasn’t been easy, but I can’t say it’s been particularly hard. I feel good about what I have built.
Launching my own business has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Being self-employed allows you the flexibility to chart your own path. And it has allowed me a work/life balance that works well for me and my family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I take my out-of-town visitors to places close to my home in Bailey, CO, including Aspen Peak Cellars and Snowpack Taproom. During the summer, we like to hike along Guanella Pass. Our entire beautiful state is worth exploring!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am fortunate to work in a sector that is supportive, nurturing, and wants to see folks succeed. I feel very lucky to do what I do!
