Meet Annessa Spangler | Concert/Band Photographer & Stay at home mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Annessa Spangler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annessa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My Photography business’s plan to help the world is that of on one side showing people that even though you are a parent or someone with an everyday job you can still do what you love. The other side is to show what Local musicians are bringing to the table, this world when it comes to music or anything in that matter is constantly looking for the next best thing when the next best thing can easily be found in our own communities, bands like Cell 23, The Ocean Effect, or even Ovira which are all amazing bands deserve the recognition, businesses helping businesses helping the community through Art.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My whole life has consisted of not so great things, The way’s I have expressed them is through my art whether it be through music, Photography, drawings, etc. I have always found a way for my outlets, And photography out all of it was the one that really stuck.
Granted im not going to lie it wasn’t easy finding this passion or people to do it for. I’ve created several different pages in the past all regarding local bands but it never really stuck,
This was also back in 2015 and I really didn’t know what I was doing,
But honestly who does know what they are doing when they start things like this or any business in that matter. Lessons that I have learned is that no matter how many no’s you may get it will never match up the the many yes’s you get and just because you mess up on the first thing doesn’t mean you cant try again,
In a matter of 5 months I have gotten not one but three bands asking me to take pictures for them!! To the millions of no’s I got,
I’ve gotten three amazing “please can you do this for us?” yes’s.
I am Annessa Spangler who does Concert/band Photography I dabble in 3-D, Glitch, and RGB photography this art isn’t just my passion its my life and I am happy to take my family along with it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first start in Manitou not for the main attractions but for the hikes along the river the architecture is absolutely beautiful being someone who live with a former mayor of /manitou I know the places that tourists lack knowledge of, we would eat at the Sahara café which has amazing Greek food , another place is Cutlers trail another amazing place to hike without needing to pay to see the seven falls, afterwards Dutch bros would be an immediate place to go during the night times I would 1000% take them to the Blacksheep for the local music doesn’t even matter who would be playing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be doing any of this if it weren’t for the band I currently take photos for which is Cell 23 those guys are absolutely amazing I also want to shoutout The Ocean Effect who were my second band I take photos for and the last band I have gotten to take picture’s for is Ovira I was super grateful for that opportunity especially in such short notice. I also want to shoutout Jeremy Richards who is the lead singer of Cell 23 he is also a songwriter for his own music Wayward Voyage. without him I wouldn’t have pursued this dream job if he didn’t give me the push to doing so.
