Meet Antonée Thomson | Women’s Health Strategist, Founder of Lyrical Rise

We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonée Thomson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Antonée, is there something you believe many others might not?
Conventional health advice in the mainstream media declaring that specific diets, exercises, or fad trends are best for every woman–regardless of their health status or life stage (examples include intermittent fasting, keto, master cleanses, cardio is best, among many more over the years) can be dangerous. The reality is, there truly are no ‘quick fixes,’ and much of the research demonstrating the outcomes of different health recommendations has been historically done with men, sedentary and/or sick populations. I work with active women in midlife, moving through perimenopause and beyond–all of them with different needs; thus, they must be treated as individuals. What works for one woman, will likely not work the same for another. As women move through midlife, it’s imperative for them to understand what’s happening with their bodies so they can make informed choices and individualized adjustments for their unique body and needs… not just defer to conventional health advice. In doing that, women will not only be healthier through the menopausal transition, but set themselves up for an active, healthy future as they age.

What should our readers know about your business?
Lyrical Rise is a women’s health business, where I help women in midlife strengthen their holistic wellness. I focus on three key Wellness Power Pillars: Nourishment (nutrition, food mindset & hydration), Movement (physical health & exercise) and NeuroHealth (mental, emotional & sleep health). I work with women in small groups & privately 1:1, both online and in-person.
As a Health Strategist, what sets me apart is my diverse academic, personal and professional experiences. With a Master’s in Neuroscience, my coaching techniques are grounded in behavioral neuroscience to drive actionable, lasting behavioral change. I’ve spent decades speaking with women coping with a range of health challenges–from metastatic cancer to mental health struggles–so I intimately understand the struggles. Over the years, I’ve been a leader, teacher, and mentor who has helped countless women achieve success in the worlds of sports, higher education, and business. Working with women, I bring a high dose of empathy (given both my own health struggles at a young age & experiences in perimenopause), along with a sharp focus on taking action.
I’m very proud of the impressive health goals my clients have achieved working with me thus far, and I’m most excited about my group programs for women, both online and in-person. In those programs, I educate women about what’s happening to their physiology in perimenopause & beyond–and equip them with powerful resources, support, and action steps they need to transform their health in midlife.
What I want the world to know is my one clear message– Midlife is NOT a crisis; it is an opportunity for profound momentum and impact.
Because it is in Midlife when we are at the height of our career, caregiving, civil engagement, and parenting journeys. It is when are leaving our legacy for the next generation. We are teaching our children what it looks like to be healthy (physically but also mentally & emotionally)–we are modeling kindness, values, relationships, and love. We are demonstrating to young professionals what it means to be conscious, engaged, inspirational leaders in the workplace. And, in terms of our individual health, we are setting ourselves up for healthier, happier, more active futures.
This is why I truly believe that midlife is the time for us to prioritize our health more than ever, and build that momentum–because we are NOT only setting the foundation for our healthy future, but also for the health of future generations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Both the city of Denver and surrounding areas have so much to offer visitors. I’m an arts fanatic, so I’d definitely take them to explore the downtown arts scene, definitely with visits to Spectra Art Space and Meow Wolf. For food, I love trying new restaurants so I’d consult Instagram to find hip, new spots to try downtown! During their stay, I’d head out of the city to my ‘hood (Boulder) to hike, immerse in nature, and catch some beautiful views of the city (either via the Flatirons or Mount Sanitas trail). I’d also make sure that they get to experience the magic of an outdoor concert at the Red Rocks amphitheater!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
They say it takes a village–and I know that to be true! First and foremost, I wouldn’t be where I am on this journey today without my incredible husband, Paul Thomson; he encourages me, pushes me beyond my comfort zone, and continually supports my growth as a business woman and Mom of our two beautiful children. I also want to give an emphatic shout out to my closest friends who pushed me to take the initial risk in starting Lyrical Rise and continue to provide love, support, and encouragement.
Others that deserve credit are the amazing community of women entrepreneurs that I’ve built through Kami Guildner; their friendships, guidance, and support have pushed me through some difficult moments. I’ve also gained valuable mentorship, education, and support through local women’s organizations–specifically, the eWomen Network in Denver, the Westminster Polkadots, and SecondAct Women. These organizations are welcoming, inclusive, and provide many opportunities for my continual growth as a woman and an entrepreneur. I am deeply grateful to everyone in my incredible support system.
