We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariel Pohl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariel, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor behind my success is that your success is always a learning curve. As a pro Dec to insist in every area of my life, I always thought things had to look or feel a specific way before you decided to leap into something. The one opportune moment would show up; yet that isn’t the case. Once I realized that the more I continue to work on myself (confidence, organization, showing up as me), I would just start the project or idea and adjust as I went along. The fastest way you learn is by doing. Trusting that what is suppose to align will you will come and what doesn’t falls away; it’s will never look or be perfect.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a personal trainer, nutrition coach, group fitness instructor and brand ambassador of Lifetime Fitness. I love what I do in teaching people how to properly move their bodies (in a way that is specific to them, their needs and their lifestyles).
I have always been in the avenue of health and fitness. I played sports growing up and danced as well. (still professional dance today). When I was wyounger my mom was written off by the medical field as they “didn’t know what was wrong with her.” After digging and almost losing hope, a holistic practitioner was able to pin point a weakness in my moms magnesium level and CoQ10 levels in her system. She is here still today; without this experience I don’t think I would’ve wanted to help people out the way this lady was able to assist my mom. I take things from a very emotional, physical, nutritional, energetic approach to make sure your lifestyle is where is needs to be to maintain what you want your goals to be.
I have definitely learned I DO NOT KNOW what I don’t know. I never walk into the room thinking I know everything because it keeps me learning, wanted to help people in new a more effect ways and it keeps me growing personally as well as professionally. Everyday brings a new challenge (personally or professionally) and I just want to keep growing. It is hard as not taking somethings as a failure, yet if you stay there you will never search for what the lesson into the situation was. I try t look at everything as a stepping stone in making things a learning experience versus going down the rabbit whole of not being good enough in your job or as a person.
I want to take my story and let people know, life it not easy; it is just worth it! I have been through a lot personal down falls and internally growing for myself has only let me get to connect with others on a deeper level. The deeper connections with my clients and their life experiences helps me as well as helps them become something more that they believed. Collectively they help me as much as I get to help them along our live paths. This to me is what true health and wellness is all about.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I am a Colorado Native – born and raised. If anyone has been to Colorado now they now it is a RARE finding to know someone that hasn’t relocated to this amazing state. As for where to take people, the mountains! Colorado has a wide range of what our foothills and mountain terrains hold. There is a fun map that lays out a road trip to take you to all of our local hot springs. So not only do you get the views of mountains, waterfalls, valleys, amazing small mountain towns, but also the nest mountain foods and small places to explore.
I am NOT a picky eater – when it comes to finding paces to stay or places to eat I am all about experiences so I like to go places and try things that I have not been to yet. The only one stop you’d have to make is Bo Jeaus pizza in Idaho Springs, Their pizza is the best!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I honestly have such a huge support group in all areas of my life. Huge shoutout to my family, dance community, my friendships at work for my career/personal goals, my coach Leah, nutritionist and friend Indie, my soul support Ashley and Jenay. Having a true tribe of people that want nothing but the absolute best for you – there is nothing to compare that too!
