We had the good fortune of connecting with Arthur Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arthur, what is the most important factor behind your success?
By approaching floral design as an art form instead of a “product” has been the defining characteristic of my brand. I approach my clients as collaborators, it’s all about creating an everyone wins scenario.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Coming from a background of gardening, sculpture and photography it only makes sense that all of my interests have collided into a cohesive business. I draw inspiration From Ikebana, architecture and tribal cultures. My motivation is to stretch the publics’ views of floral design as an art forrm. My art has placed me as a previous Creative in residence at the Denver Art Museum, an international design competitor and has brought me around the world as a teacher and presenter.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I would just trap them in my garden.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely like to mention some powerhouses of education in my industry, (both of which I’m a member). The American Institute of Floral Designers AIFD, and the European Master Certification program EMC. They have been so very influential in my career.
