We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Adabahr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what do you attribute your success to?
Before the Colorado Supreme Court created the Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals program, parties in domestic relations cases had only two options as far as representation- either hire an attorney or represent themselves. There is data in Colorado that suggests that the vast majority of family law litigants represent themselves. Many people simply can’t afford attorneys, and with the rising cost of litigation, attorneys, and their support staff, parties are left to navigate complex family law matters without any legal advice or support. I started Two Roads Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals, LLC, to offer affordable legal services to parties who would otherwise have no legal assistance in their divorce cases. As part of a budget-conscious approach, I offer unbundled, hourly legal services to many clients who are able to navigate their own divorces on a daily basis, but who need assistance in the complex areas of the case, such as navigating court deadlines, preparing financial disclosures and spreadsheets, and preparing final settlement agreements. I offer my services at a significantly lower rate than attorneys so that I can help a larger population of Colorado families. It is my belief that family law legal services should be available to people at all income levels. I pride myself on offering high-quality legal assistance to parties while being cost-conscious and efficient.

What should our readers know about your business?
I grew up in a single-parent household of modest means and I have always understood the challenge of trying to pursue goals within a limited budget. When I went to college, I had to take on significant debt and I graduated during the recession when jobs were scare and student loan interest rates were high. After working in other industries for several years, I found family law in 2014 after I moved to Colorado. I spent many years working as a senior paralegal on high-asset, high-income divorce cases and I learned a great deal about the complexities of divorce. After becoming an LLP, I decided that I would take to heart the Colorado Supreme Court’s goal for the LLPs to bridge the access to justice gap for Colorado families in need. What sets me and Two Roads apart is that I focus on providing my clients with the services they want and need, at a price they can afford. Family law cases are emotional and difficult on many levels, and it is my goal to help my clients get through the process without leaving them with debt and financial uncertainty. I believe that a majority of divorce cases can be settled, rather than litigated, and my goal is to provide my clients with affordable legal services that empower them to settle their cases without breaking the bank. Starting my own solo practice at Two Roads is my way of giving back to my community. I provide family law legal services to the population of people in Colorado who would otherwise have been left to navigate complex family law matters on their own due to budget concerns or other factors. I pride myself on providing high-quality family law legal advice, while billing efficiently, and providing practical strategies to help my clients resolve their cases without the need for expensive litigation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place to bring visitors as often as I can in Colorado is Red Rocks Amphitheater. My husband and I have been to so many shows there over the years that I’ve lost count. It is truly one of the most spectacular music venues in the world, and it is my favorite place to bring people to who have never been. I also love to take people to my favorite Colorado brewery, Baere Brewing Company, which is a small brewery on South Broadway in Denver. I have been taking out-of-town guests there for many years and it is always a great experience. My favorite restaurant is Breakfast on Broadway in Englewood. I love to take friends and family there for the small town diner vibe, where they offer excellent meals and bottomless mimosas. Even when the wait to get in takes a bit, it is always worth it. I love to show guests the mountains up close if we get the chance. I really enjoy driving up into the mountains and showing friends and family the incredible views of the rivers and canyons that make Colorado truly special. I also really enjoy hiking through Staunton State Park and look forward to bringing out-of-town guests there as the weather warms up in the coming months.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Over the past year and a half, I have had the pleasure of getting to know a large group of professionals who have supported the creation and implementation of the Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP) program in Colorado. This includes paralegals, attorneys, judges, divorce financial experts, divorce real estate experts, and various organizations in Colorado. It has been a great experience working alongside these incredible professionals as I pursued the Licensed Legal Paraprofessional licensure and then began my practice as an LLP in Colorado. This program had unanimous support from the Colorado Supreme Court and has been supported in a multitude of ways over the past year as the first group of LLPs was sworn in by the Supreme Court in June of 2024, and the second group was sworn in in January of 2025. It has been my honor to help usher in this new profession in Colorado and to see how many professionals have worked tirelessly to implement this program to bridge an access to justice gap for Colorado families. I also want to shout out my husband, Kyle, who has provided me with endless support over the past several years as I pursued my MBA and then my LLP licensure in Colorado. His support was instrumental in my ability to get through the day-to-day challenges of working full-time while pursuing my professional goals and opening my own solo practice.
