We had the good fortune of connecting with Aurora Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aurora, what do you attribute your success to?
It’s always been really important to us to be a part of the community. We strive to be an inclusive, safe space for our customers. When people walk in our doors we want them to feel like they are seen and heard, and I think that’s why we’ve been so successful. We care about each individual and their story.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to create environments for people to be in. Spaces that are warm and welcoming. Spaces that make you feel at home. Up until we opened our first location, I was a stay at home mother. I’ve always loved entertaining and hosting parties, and our coffee shop provides a great space for me to host people daily. It hasn’t always been easy being a small business owner, but I absolutely love it. We’ve learned a lot over the past few years, and I think the most important thing I’ve learned is that we are all unique and have something interesting to offer. Be proud and confident in whatever that offering may be!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We have lots of customers come through and ask us where they should go while visiting Denver. My first response is always to visit Red Rocks Amphitheater, If not for a concert, then just a hike. If you happen to be driving through the state, Bishop’s Castle is a must see!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Spencer as always had my back. He has worked long hours with lots of traveling so I could stay home with our three children. In 2019, he was laid off from a company he had been with for 15 years, which gave him the opportunity to do the majority of the buildout of our coffee shop. He built all of our tables, our bar, and worked tirelessly through quarantine since our contractors couldn’t come out. He is a wonderful dad, husband, and my best friend.
