Meet Avalon Noelle | Fashion Designer & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Avalon Noelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Avalon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is faith. For me, art and spirituality are inseparable. My relationship with the divine fuels my creativity and resilience. During moments of discouragement in my creative journey, I turn to my faith, which reminds me why I must persevere. At the heart of my business is a mission to share community and love through art and fashion. I feel most connected to my higher self when I’m creating, and I see my work as a love letter to those around me. This inspiration led to the name Love, Avalon. Ultimately, my success stems from creating for God; everything else is just a delightful bonus.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I run an independent clothing brand called Love, Avalon. Here is my mission statement:
“At Love, Avalon, my mission is to foster a vibrant community, ignite hope, and unleash creativity through unique, handmade custom clothing. I am dedicated to making slow fashion accessible to all by offering personalized designs tailored to individual budgets and all body types, while championing sustainability to combat the detrimental effects of fast fashion. By inspiring self-expression and reimagining the clothing experience, I strive to empower individuals to embrace their uniqueness and make a positive impact on the world through fashion.”
In simpler terms, I create custom clothing for people of all sizes and budgets using exclusively recycled materials. My goal is to inspire confidence, combat fast fashion, and push the boundaries of the fashion industry.
Love, Avalon began during a creative low point in my life. I had just left a job I was initially excited about, but it turned out to be a poor fit for me. Feeling discouraged, I knew I needed a change. Starting this brand wasn’t easy, but everything fell into place naturally. It all began when my boyfriend’s band hosted a t-shirt making party. I had so much fun that I bought a $40 screenprinting kit on Amazon. I also remembered that I knew how to sew, thanks to my dad teaching me after I got a sewing machine for Christmas when I was 10.
From there, things took off. I used supplies I inherited from my grandmother and my newfound passion to create merchandise for many local bands and businesses around Austin.
Today, about a year and a half since that t-shirt party, I know that this is my life’s work. I hope to be an example to others that fashion and clothing can be a force for good. We can create our own realities instead of conforming to societal expectations. My end goal would be to have a store front or to travel doing pop up shops full time. I would also be happy as a costume designer for a theater or ballet. Through art and fashion, I’ve learned to love myself, and I hope to share this experience with others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m in a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend, and he’s coming to visit Denver this summer! Here are some things I’m excited to do with him:
I’m most excited about going to the Colorado Renaissance Faire with him. A whole weekend full of delicious food, amazing art, and outstanding performances—what could be better?
Another one of our favorite activities is visiting the Denver Art Museum. As an artist, I’ve visited countless art museums, but the one in downtown Denver has always been my number one favorite.
I also want to take him hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. I feel so blessed to live a short drive away from one of the most jaw-dropping mountain ranges in the nation, and we will definitely take advantage of that!
Lastly, if the timing allows, I would love to show him the First Friday celebrations in the Denver Art District. Several artists and creatives gather to show and sell their work, and there’s also amazing live music and food trucks. Sounds like an ideal date to me!
Denver is so special to me because, even though I’ve grown up here, there’s still so much to explore. I’ll never get bored of this city!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not get the joy of running my small business without the help of others!
While living in Austin, Texas, I found myself in the most vibrant community of creative individuals. Working at PaperWork LLC, an artist consignment shop in downtown Austin, truly inspired me to take my business idea seriously. I am incredibly grateful to my friends and colleagues who stood by me during some challenging times, showing me the immense power of a tight-knit community.
I also owe a huge thank you to my family. My boyfriend and parents believe in me even more than I believe in myself at times. Their unwavering support and love have provided a strong foundation on which I’ve built this brand. I aspire to be a similar light in their lives.
And lastly, Love, Avalon would not exist without all my beautiful customers and clients. I’m so grateful to have found a customer base that trusts me creatively. When people are happy with the clothing I make for them, it reminds me that all my hard work is worth it.
I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way. Big shout out to all of you!
