We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Schigel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Benjamin, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor for me and has been putting in the work. Simple things like showing up on time and being attentive to detail really go a long way. Nothing good comes for free and to be successful it takes hard work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in making things look and feel polished. It was a process of learning and being consistent, people equate it to the 10,000hrs rule. I’ve spent so much time over the last two decades honing my craft that eventually it becomes second nature. Obviously there are challenges along the way and I’ve had my share of them, what helps me through those times is switching what I’m using my creativity on. If producing music is getting stale to me or I feel I just don’t have it at the time I focus more on video production, or making my house and yard look slick. Always keeping busy being creative!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in a subarb of Cleveland I can get downtown in 25 minutes. Downtown there’s a decent amount of action considering we have three major sports franchises and I’m a big sports guy. I also recommend The Marble Room one of my favorite restaurants, great vibe and amazing cuisine. The steak tartare is smackin’! Most of time if I’m not home having drinks on the patio I frequent a few local bars that have live music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my family when I was growing up and starting and currently my wife who puts up with my long hours of work. It’s hard to have success without support and encouragement from your closest loved ones.
