Meet Beret Kroeger | Wedding Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beret Kroeger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beret, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always loved events—the creativity, the energy, the joy of bringing people together. But what really drove me to start my own business was the desire to create freely and take full ownership of the experience I deliver to clients. I found that I thrive when I have the space to design something from the ground up, with intention and heart behind every detail. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to follow my vision, trust my instincts, and build a brand that reflects my personal approach to luxury weddings: thoughtful, elegant, and deeply personal.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career path hasn’t been linear, but every chapter has helped shape the planner I am today. Before diving into weddings, I worked with children with autism—an experience that deeply impacted me. It taught me patience, resilience, adaptability, and the importance of clear communication—traits that are absolutely essential when planning weddings.
I also have an extensive background in travel, which naturally led me to specialize in destination weddings. Planning events in unique places is second nature to me, and I love helping couples dream big without the stress.
What truly sets me apart, though, is my deep connection to the Vail Valley. I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and now I’m lucky to call it home. That local knowledge lets me offer personalized guidance that goes beyond Google searches—whether it’s recommending the perfect hidden ceremony spot or navigating mountain weather with ease.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that every couple is different. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. You have to really listen—not just hear, but listen—to understand what matters most to them.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that I’m here to create meaningful, joyful, and personalized wedding weekends that reflect who my couples are. I don’t just plan—I advocate, guide, and cheer them on every step of the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many fun things to do in the Vail Valley—it’s hard to pick just a few! If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want them to experience the perfect mix of adventure, beauty, and local charm.
We’d start with a scenic hike in Minturn—maybe something with wildflowers and a view—and then reward ourselves with lunch and margaritas at the iconic Minturn Saloon. One evening, I’d definitely take them to a live show at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which is one of the most magical outdoor venues you’ll ever see.
For dinner, Mountain Standard in Vail is a must. Their cocktails are amazing, and the vibe is relaxed but elevated. Afterward, we’d head to Chasing Rabbits for a nightcap—it’s such a cool, unexpected space with amazing design, and it’s always a fun scene.
We’d also spend a day paddleboarding or biking around the valley, another day relaxing at the Sonnenalp spa, and of course carve out time to just sit on a patio somewhere with a dirty martini and enjoy the mountain air. Whether it’s hiking, eating, shopping, or catching live music, there’s never a dull moment up here!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This journey wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible people who have supported me along the way. I want to give a huge shoutout to my colleagues in the wedding and events industry who not only inspired me but became dear friends. Their collaboration, encouragement, and wisdom have meant everything. I also have so much gratitude for my family and close friends who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. I never expected this path to be my destiny, but I truly feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be—and that’s thanks to the amazing community I’m lucky to be surrounded by.
