Meet Bethany Nickison and Stephen Baynes | Rubbertotherocks Co-Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany Nickison and Stephen Baynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bethany and Stephen, what do you attribute your success to?
Our most important factor in success is that we didn’t start Rubbertotherocks as a business venture, but more so as a fun project that we have ran with. Our idea was to create a jeep/offroad account focused on southwest 4-wheeling adventures so we could connect ourselves to others in the community, as well as encourage folks to explore more and experience what we have. By maintaining our brand as a “fun project” we have been able to capture a wide audience due to of our authenticity, creativity, and sense of adventure.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of our favorite places to bring people is to wheel around Buena Vista, CO. There are some amazing trails such as Carnage Canyon, Tin Cup Pass, Chinaman Gulch, and Holy Crossing, as well as beautiful scenery. We would check out small towns such as Creede and Leadville, as we drove to different trails and campsites. As far as eating, we are fans of cooking on our campstove and bringing snacks with us on the trail. There is no better meal than blueberry pancakes cooked on the tailgate.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a shoutout to Bobby McGrath with Visionary Motorsports and Fabrication. Bobby is a long-time friend, has helped conceptualize and build several rigs, and is the first person we call when something sounds funny.
