Meet Beverlee McMillen | Owner/Stylist of Nuance Hair Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beverlee McMillen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beverlee, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my business brand is being consistent.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Beverlee and I am the Owner and Hairstylist of Nuance Hair Studio in Lone Tree. I rebranded in 2018 to Nuance Hair Studio, but I have been an owner for almost 8 years. I have been a Stylist for 22 years with a small break in between to raise my kids when they were much younger.
It wasn’t always easy being a business owner. There are so many ups and downs and tons of learning curves. You really have to have a business mind set when you are an owner, whether is a clothing boutique, pizza place or hair salon. Some people think they can just go out on your own and live out your passion and dreams, but there is so much behind the scenes that make you run a successful business. To be honest, I didn’t think I could cut it being a business owner and stylist-wearing all the different hats, but after tears and soul searching I got a hold on my business.
I am still learning every day how to run my business and maintain being a stylist. There is always, always room to grow. I focus on giving my guests the ultimate guest experience that is second to none. I want my guests to feel special, relaxed and confident when they leave my chair. That is the what I strive for each and every day. Anyone can go see a stylist to get highlights or get their greys covered, I make it much more of an experience, the laughter and deep connection that made.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie came in from out of town, I would probably take her to Estes Park for the weekend and doing a little shopping and have some lunch and dinner at one of the cute places in town. Take a hike or two in Rocky Mountain National Park. Maybe head Denver at some point to Sushi Den for some amazing sushi and go check out Meow Wolf or go to a local brewery.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to Britt Seva with The Thriving Stylist Method. I dove into her business coaching in March of 2021 and I cannot believe the massive amount of knowledge I have received! This business is ever evolving and it is really great to get a handle of the business side of the Hairstyling Industry.
