We had the good fortune of connecting with Bolu and Jake and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bolu, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
It is definitely hard to balance school, work, and social media. We are also both full time students, so, it can be hard to find time to record videos, edit them, and put in the time and effort to make sure we are putting out the best content for our viewers. We also have many companies and brands reaching out to us for brand deals/sponsorships. Balancing all these things can get hard and overwhelming. This is why it is important to stay organized and consistent so that we are always finding more ways to grow our platform.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are Social Media Influencers/Content creators. We started off on YouTube – not knowing what the outcome would be. Many people told us to start posting YouTube videos. Months later, we finally sat down one day and we did. Our first video took off and has accumulated over 100,000 + views. We then expanded our social media presence to TikTok. In just a few months of posting we have gained over 300,000 followers and have had several videos of ours go viral with millions of views. We started building a platform on Instagram shortly after as well. With all the success, the journey was not easy, and we are still learning and evolving everyday. There are times where we had mental blocks and could not think of content to post for our YouTube channel which can be challenging when you are expected to post 3 times a week. Being an interracial couple and putting yourself out there is also hard. There are haters and overly-opinionated people. We get tons of hate comments every day and it is definitely hard to overlook some of them especially when you are hearing it from so many people at once. At the end of the day, we just have to remind ourselves that we shouldn’t let the negativity get to us – especially when they are hating from behind a screen.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live and go to school in Fort Collins ,CO. Colorado has so much to offer. The first place we would take them is hiking. Colorado is obviously known for its mountains, and the scenery here is just breathtaking. We would definitely take them to the Rocky Mountain National Park where both of us have hiked together last fall. Fort Collins also has so many food places to offer. Young’s Cafe – a Vietnamese restaurant- is for sure one of our favorite spots to eat at. Delicious cuisines such as Pho and sesame chicken hit the spot. Another one of our favorite restaurants that we would take our friend to is Canino’s. This Italian restaurant is actually built in a house and the food is authentic and amazing! We wish we could count how many times we have gone on a date there because we certainly lost count! Fat shack is the best place to grab a burger in town. Would for sure have to stop there as well. Fort Collins also has an indoor roller skating rink called Rollerland, which is a great place to get out and have fun. Hoorsetooth Reservoir has a beach which would be a great place to take a swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer. Colorado State University’s football and basketball games are also a must!

We would like to thank our supporters across all platforms. We appreciate all the love and support we receive from you all everyday. You guys are the reason we keep doing what we are doing and we owe it all to you! The internet is full of hate but our supporters make us forget all of it because of how much love we receive!
