We had the good fortune of connecting with Bradey Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bradey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Originally, my business started out as a hobby. I have always had a passion for fishing and taking photos and videos but didn’t really take it very seriously. I started out teaching myself how to edit and made Youtube videos using myself as a test subject for editing. I worked for a small start up media company that ended up going under where I than had to get a quick source of income and found myself working for a restaurant in Lakewood. From there I got a job as a customer service representative at a fly shop where I did that for about 6 months. The current video manager found a new job and I knew how to edit videos, do email marketing and social media so I then became their video production manager and renaissance man where I would create content of people tying flies and other related fly fishing content, do email marketing and help with customer service when needed. My boss one day came to me and asked me why he was paying me and it was right then and there I started looking for a new job. I found a job as a Marketing Manager for an Overlanding company where I maintained their website, Facebook and did analytical analysis, email marketing and helped run the retail shop. Fast forward to the peak of Covid I lost my job, and housing so I moved back into parents basement where I then started River Ambassadors Media. I was already heading in the direction of running my own media business as I would help film wedding videos as my side hustle and help some smaller businesses/non profits with media needs. It was a sink or swim moment and honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
From a young kid I have loved being outside and it wasn’t until I tore my ACL going into my senior year of College lacrosse I found out about Fly Fishing. I knew from that moment I wanted to work in the outdoor industry and find a way to fly fish and work. I went through ups and downs to chase my dream from being jobless to having jobs I hated. sleeping on a cot in my buddies house until I got on my feet again to not being able to buy a carton of eggs. To say success is easy would be a lie and I am honestly still chasing it. I will say though that doing what you love truly does make you rich and not in your pocket but in your soul. Don’t take your opportunities for granted and try to learn everything you can from people who have already successfully done what you are trying to do. Keep an open mind and honestly dream and believe in what you want and make it happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well this would be easy for me and it would be pretty simple. We would pack the truck and raft up and head to go float the Colorado River, camp and fish. Bringing all of our food in the coolers and cooking chicken and rice for some days, make sandwiches, oatmeal and have the cooler packed full of beer. Potentially catch a whitefish and fry it up. Stop at the hot springs in the area. Mainly just fish and camp.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh man, I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I would have to thank my parents honestly because when I lost my job they encouraged me to head in the direction I am going. My friend Jennings who runs Fishing the Good Fight and has been a spokes person for me and a genuinely great friend. My girlfriend who has been with me through my lowest lows and my highest highs. My friend Scott from Lidrig, The Flycast guys Travis and Taylor. My friends Coltan and Phil who have been in my life long before I even knew what I wanted to do and have been such incredible friends to me. My friend Brady who helped with the business when it first started and has been there since day one and has always had my back. Jade, Aj, Stoneberg, Mikey, Brian, Corey, and Max who were all there when I needed and have always been. There are so many and I would just have to say thank you.
