We had the good fortune of connecting with Brendan Fung and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brendan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I can say simply, and with conviction, that the leading reason for the success of my businesses is the community of people who have found Squeeze and Loon Hill and resonated with both the product and the purpose.

It’s essential, now more than ever, to build something that reverberates deep within consumers; something that they can rally around; something that they will stake their name to. And to get to this point, you have to know what your consumer wants and needs. There are books written by smarter people about the gravitas of market research. However, in my entrepreneurial journey, it’s been as simple as asking myself and those close to me if this is a product that I would utilize. If you can answer yes, that you are building upon a strong base.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2020, I started an LLC called Six Red Envelopes, whose primary goal is to create the places and experiences that foster exciting and unique communities. As an avid traveller and adventurer, I have had the privilege of encountering myriad astounding cultures, people, and food across the globe. After a trip to Sayulita, Mexico, I was entranced with the prominence of fresh, affordable, and pure cold-pressed juice. Having come back to Colorado, I recognized a void in the market for a service that represented product at its core. Not as a dietary supplement or symbol of status, but as a centrifuge for a community of people who value their health, their earth, and each other. Thus, Squeeze Juicery was born as Six Red Envelope’s first venture.

Squeeze is Denver’s first and only made-to-order, beautifully crafted, immensely nutritious, and accessible cold-pressed-juice. Served from a window on the street, our space and experience focus on our community and bringing them together under a shared belief in the power of nutrition.

In late 2021, Loon Hill came to fruition as Six Red Envelope’s second venture, this time shifting the perspective of herbal tea from a secondary afterthought to centerstage. Our variety of loose-leaf tea is specifically curated to focus on a series of benefits from deeper sleep to more acute energy.

As time goes on, our goal at Six Red Envelopes is to continue sharing the beauties of the world with our local communities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is a city ripe with a range of experiences and opportunities. One person’s ideal trip will inevitably look a lot different than someone else’s. But if you’re here to visit me, our days would look something like this:

Friday:
Start off the morning with a brisk run around City Park.
Follow that up with breakfast @ Crema on Larimer. The coffee is great, but the quiche is even better.
Spend the day exploring RiNo. Checking out all the street art, the boutique stores, and people watching. A beer at one of the many breweries, specifically Our Mutual Friend will wrap up the afternoon.
Early evening, we will jump over to MBP on Welton for dinner and live jazz.

Saturday:
Is it a trip to Denver without a little outdoor time? Kick off the morning at Matthew Winters Park outside of Red Rocks for a beautiful and (sorta) easy hike looking out over Denver.
On our way back into town, we’ll stop at New Terrain Brewery in Golden for our choice of food truck offerings and obviously a crisp beer.
After a rest at home, it’s off to Cheesman Park for some relaxing. With a frisbee or football in hand, it’s the perfect afternoon activity.
Around dinner, we’ll head to Hop Alley for the best Chinese street food in town. A trip to Cerventes after for live music will be the perfect night cap.

Sunday:
Inevitably worse for the wear, Rosenberg’s is the perfect remedy to a long night out.
Follow that up with Jazz in the Park in City Park and we’ve rounded out my perfect weekend in Denver.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am today without my husband. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey – one that is often volatile and tumultuous – so the impact of having him as a buoy in the storm these past few years cannot be overstated.
