We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianne Buishas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianne, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I think the single most important habit that helps me succeed is being determined. In the industry that I work in, rejection is unfortunately such a large part of my life, so staying determined is extremely vital. Even if that doesn’t always mean optimistic, staying persistent regardless has always given me more opportunities and kept me moving forward.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a professional model and actor, I wouldn’t say it was easy getting to where I am today but I’ve also come to appreciate and enjoy the journey. Some of my proudest moments include getting my first major publications in magazines, such a Lucys, Iconic Artists, Vigour, and especially Vogue Italia and Vogue Portugal print. My first cover on a magazine was also a surreal feeling. This year I also got the privilege of voicing two different toys, which is an absolute dream come true, as I love children and was such a playful child myself. Even throughout the pandemic, this past year gave me so many unique opportunities that I’m grateful for, such as being part of an all redhead music video, hand modeling for a batman toy commercial as 5-year-old boy hands, working on 102.5 FM Radio station, and being part of my first Amazon film. Even with the smaller opportunities, I’m thankful for all the connections I make and learning more about my craft and the industry as a whole. I got to where I am today by staying persistent, asking questions, and trying to do something to help me reach my goals every single day. I am so proud of my accomplishments thus far, but I still have so many goals and dreams I’m working towards still! The advice I would give to others is to keep pushing your boundaries and taking every opportunity thrown at you because you never know where it will lead, who you will meet, or how it could inspire you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to come visit me in Denver- I would have to take them to all of my favorite places inside and outside. The mountains are definitely a top priority since they’re just gorgeous, so at least driving up there if not a hike or outdoor adventure would be my first recommendation. I also love showing people around downtown, the milk market, RiNo, and Boulder. My all time favorite places to dine include Safta, the best middle eastern food I’ve had in my life. As well as the açaí bowl and juice cafe, Whole Sol, my absolute favorite açaí bowls, specifically the ‘homemade Newtella’ bowl. As someone who is allergic to dairy, I also highly recommend the vegan spots in town- Watercourse foods and my favorite bakery as a dessert obsessed person, Make Believe Bakery. If we had more time to go to Vail or further away to ski, that’s always a fun time too!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my support team- mainly my immediate family and best friends. They help support me and my dreams and encourage me along the way, and for that I am eternally grateful.
