We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany See and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to provide business owners quality work and improved customer service, which is why I wanted to be a part of the founding of Ascent Digital. There isn’t just one type of digital marketing that works for everyone. It must be adjusted to the client’s objectives and goals as well as the type of business. Also, I had confidence in my business partner Ben Sorensen and knew we could manage an agency better than we experienced in the past. Funny thing is, when I decided to quit my well-paying job and take a leap of faith to create Ascent Digital, I felt fully at ease and without any doubts.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ascent Digital is a one of a kind agency. We sincerely care about our clients’ success in business. We have 2 core philosophies that we run our business by- Givers Gain and Go Above and Beyond. We believe that by genuinely supporting and serving our customers, our business will flourish. We regularly go above and above for our customers, which may take the form of supplying advice, recommendations, giving our time or offering something free of charge that is out of the scope of their services. We feel that these philosophies have set us apart from the rest. We are also a responsive agency- when a customer emails, calls, or texts us we always respond within 24 hours. We provide top notch communication, fast turn around and quality work. We grew so quickly because we care about our community and our customers. We built something incredible and we are super transparent with it on our social media. This has made people want to be a part of our community because they believe in us. Starting and running a business is the hardest thing I have experienced in life thus far. It is a roller coaster of emotions, adjusting processes, and cash flow problems. We just keep trusting the process and each other, plus have built an amazing team/culture that motivates us to keep going and continue to problem solve. The lessons that I have learned along the way are to keep putting in the work and maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to continue making wise business decisions. To position us for future success, we are implementing long-term solutions rather than short-term ones. Ascent Digital’s rapid growth and thriving business can be attributed to our ability to deliver results, adapt to change, and provide outstanding customer service. With these strengths, we are well-positioned to continue growing and serving our clients for years to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Durango has so many outdoor activities! Depending on the season, we would definitely go up to Purgatory Ski Resort most days, maybe Hesperus for night skiing, and then snowshoeing up north at Andrews Lake or Molas in the winter. On the way back, we would have to stop at the School House to play pool, drink beer, and eat the best pizza in Durango. In the summer, we’d tube the Animas River one day, paddle board up the river from 32nd, and then go to Lake Night Horse to boat and swim. There are also numerous fishing spots, including Vallecito, Lemon, the San Juan River, the Pine River, and, of course, the Animas. We’d also have to play disc golf and hike some high alpine lakes. Maybe even drive the Million Dollar Highway and eat lunch in Ouray and Dinner in Telluride. My favorite locations to eat, drink, and experience the Durango lifestyle are Pop Sushi, J Bo’s Pizza, the Bookcase and Barber, El Moro, Frida’s, 2nd Deli, Switch Back, Fired Up, and for fine dining either Eolus or the Ore House. The Durango Hot Springs is great place to hangout and relax in any season so that would have to be in the mix as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business partner Ben Sorensen is the sole reason why we started Ascent Digital. I had complete faith in him and just trusted the process.
