Meet Brittney Iten | Entrepreneur/Chef/Owner/Operator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Iten and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always had the passion for cooking and creating flavors and sharing these dishes with friends and family. Knowing my love language, acts/gifts of service I knew I wanted to take my passion and turn it into profit. They say if you love what you do for work are you really working? During my tenured in corporate Food and Beverage I’ve always thought what would owning/operating a food truck be like? With my business background and passion for food, Saucy Chops was created! Make Sauce Drip Sauce Make Money!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My Food Truck concept is Scratch made SAUCE on Americana Classics. Think pulled pork sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, green chili cheese fry’s, etc….
What makes the food spectacular is the SAUCE and most of my food menu items and sauce names are double entendres. The Fried Chicken Sandwich is the Dirty Bird, Chili Fry’s are G Chili Peppa Steppa. I even name my Truck and Trailer (Lester and Lenna).
From home chef to food truck chef, I grew into catering and private dining space where I was able to master my knife skills along with plate presentations.
I have a corporate background in national sales and marketing. I’ve work for big beer companies, such as Coors and Heineken and small start ups. I launched John Elway’s private wine label 7Cellars. I also dabbled in corporate cannabis for a few years before starting Saucy Chops.
You can say that my expertise is in consumer product goods. I’ve taken my corporate background and applied that to the success of my Food Trucks and Catering company.
Was is easy?……Hell no, it is a daily hustle. Food Truck life is not for the faint hearted. I continue to learn something new every day! Buy I wouldn’t give it up for the world. The dollar starts and stops with me. That is something to be proud about.
I want the world to know about my brand is that I am women owned and make Sauce for your tasting pleasure! I’m launching my sauces on line and coming to a store near you with wholesale/retail.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well…..I definitely am taking them to Saucy Chops! lol
Secondly, I would take them to Moon Rise Beer Garden. Saucy Chops Trailer (Leena) will be there permanently for the season. Outdoor garden with food trucks, cocktails/beer, live music, fire pits, pet & kid friendly, much more…….
Once, the Saucy tour is complete, I would take them to Uchi one my favorite sushi restaurants. For dinks we would visit the Wellington Room in 5 points. They have the best espresso martini’s! The following day I would try to hit a yoga or workout class for a little reprieve (core power or Denver yoga). Lastly, if it is during the football season we would be attending a game as I have season tickets and my version of Church on Funday Sunday!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are too many people to name that have influenced my path and/or have helped with my success. But the ones that stand our are the people that said I couldn’t be my own boss and run a successful business. This shout out is for them!
