We had the good fortune of connecting with Brogan Resch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brogan, how do you think about risk?
Throughout my life, I have been inspired by the risks taken by my parents to grow their business and support their family. I have learned from them to not view risk through a negative lens, as the potential rewards can be positive if you commit 100%. For me, my business journey started because of risk. I attended 7 years of college, and after graduating with my masters degree and working in my field, I took up photography as a hobby and quickly realized my passion for the art. After careful consideration, I made the bold move to start my own business. I invested what little money I had saved towards camera gear, photography education, and eagerly built my portfolio to get established. During this process, I worked for other photographers which drove the development of an incredible community. Starting my business involved a massive amount of dedication, and many hours of improving my technique. The risks taken have given me unforeseen opportunities, and created a sustaining business that was fueled in less than a year thanks to my incredible clients and colleagues.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
From the moment a client meets with me, I strive to have them feel comfortable and heard. It is my hope that couples feel confident with me so that they can be their true self and look natural in their photos. I always say to my clients that I am available not just on their wedding day, but through the entire planning process as well. As a wedding vendor and bride to be myself, I understand how many details go into a wedding day and I am more than happy to offer a lending hand to my incredible clients!

After taking the photos, I break down the delivery into three phases: sneak peek, one month anniversary, and full gallery. Editing is a challenging process. I personally hand edit each photo to ensure that it is consistent with my brand and editing style. Hearing client’s reactions after delivering their gallery is truly one of the best feelings! This is why I love what I do!

My brand isn’t about the camera I use or the edits I apply, but the relationship I build with each and every client while capturing their milestone. Growing up in a small midwest town I saw the importance that community has on business. I am humbled to have such a supportive network and wonderful clients that have inspired me to be the business owner I am today!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question because Colorado has something to offer for everyone! Our first stop would be Rocky Mountain National Park to see all of the Elk and hike along the scenic trails. Of course we would stop at the Colorado Cherry Company for a slice of pie on the way!

For my sushi loving friend, we would have to stop at Sushi Den. Their homemade Ramen and Rocky Mountain Roll are my favorite. Next we would catch a concert at Red Rocks. From the city skyline view to the natural acoustics, you can’t beat the experience of hearing live music at Red Rocks! For dessert we will head over to the Chocolate Therapist to grab some salted caramels for the ride home.

Experiencing the mountain lifestyle in Vail is our next stop. The architecture in this charming town makes you feel like you are in a Hallmark movie providing the best backdrop for any photos!
Our trip wouldn’t be complete without grabbing ice cream from Little Man to top off our Colorado adventure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many colleagues, family members, and mentors who I have to thank for my success; however, I would not be where I am today without the support of my fiancé, Eric, who has helped me on both sides of the camera. Eric has supported me through challenging business decisions, tax season, and has even helped assist me during weddings. I am beyond thankful for his endless love and support!
