We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooke, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In 2022 my husband and I noticed the lack of beginner friendly climbing content online. At the time we were working at a local climbing gym as the social media manager and youth team head coach.

Together with our talents we started a TikTok page where our goal was to post relatable/educational climbing content geared towards new climbers.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started Connective Climbing as a fun outlet but quickly saw there was a real need for engaging educational climbing content.

I’m proud of how big this community of climbers has grown to (over 186k followers across out platforms) but I’m even more proud of the individuals it’s affected.

I’ve had countless followers tell me it’s gotten them into climbing, made them more comfortable in the climbing space, and had positive impacts on their lives.

I’m always shocked when I have followers recognize us in real life & say hi. But I love it! We recently were on our honeymoon in Japan and had people recognize us on the street. How crazy! I never anticipated that when I got started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I guess it would be very on-brand for me to say I would take them to my local climbing gym. My husband and I climb at the Longmont Climbing Collective and they also have locations in Loveland and Greeley. It’s the perfect fun activity to get your body moving and challenge your mind.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents always encouraged my entrepreneurial spirit and never forced me down a certain path. Thanks to them I’ve always pursued different outlets including owning an Etsy shop, being an Airbnb host, starting a freelance marketing business, and eventually creating the brand Connective Climbing.
