We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Welsh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me, the biggest factor behind my success has been embracing a collaborative approach with my clients. I’m all about creating images that tell a story, and I can only do that by forming genuine connections with the people I work with. Before we even book a photoshoot, I love diving into a conversation to really get to know my clients—understanding their goals and learning more about who they are. Whether I’m snapping portraits or shooting products, everyone has a unique story that deserves to be heard and beautifully represented. It’s all about making those meaningful connections and capturing the essence of each individual or product!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets my art apart is definitely the vibrant, playful energy that infuses my images. For product shots, I’m all about jazzing things up with colorful backdrops and fun props to make the scene pop. When it comes to portraits, I love capturing people in their most genuine, candid moments—those real, unposed expressions that truly shine. My style has evolved a lot, and I’m still figuring out my signature look, but that’s part of the adventure! Each photoshoot is like a new chapter in a never-ending learning journey.
It’s easy to look back at older work and think about what I could have done differently, but I see that as a chance to grow and refine my craft. Getting to where I am today wasn’t always a breeze—it took a lot of hustle and perseverance. But overcoming those challenges has taught me so much about resilience and creativity. What I want the world to know about me is that my brand is all about capturing life’s moments in a fun, authentic way, and I’m always on the lookout for new ways to bring a splash of joy and color into everything I create!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Great question! If it’s a weekend adventure, I’d kick things off by taking my friend to Boulder for a hike at Chautauqua Park. I went to CU Boulder, so it’s always a blast to revisit my old stomping grounds and soak in those breathtaking views. After our hike, we’d head over to my go-to brunch spot, Walnut Cafe. Their Boulder latte is a must-try, and the breakfast potatoes? Absolutely the best!
Later that night, we’d catch an epic show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre—nothing beats the energy there. On Sunday, we’d start the day at the farmers market, grabbing fresh produce and loving on all the adorable pets. Then, we’d whip up a tasty lunch and enjoy a relaxing picnic at Cheesman Park in Denver. It’s the perfect way to unwind and soak up the local vibe!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I spent an amazing three years at a startup called Soona, where I really got to level up my skills and master the art of building awesome relationships with clients. Soona was founded by the dynamic duo Liz Giorgi and Hayley Anderson just five years ago, and they turned a simple idea into the incredible company it is today. During my time there, I had the chance to unleash my creativity and collaborate with a ton of different brands. Seeing how thrilled my clients were with the work we created together kept me super motivated and eager to keep perfecting my craft!
