We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrie Tempalski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carrie, how does your business help the community?
I am an acupuncturist and I am co-owner of an acupuncture clinic that uses a Pay-It-Forward model. What this means is that we use a sliding scale payment system that allows each client to pay what they can afford. This model helps us care for anyone, regardless of their resources. Those that can afford more help to sustain those that pay less. By creating a strong, healthy business strategy we are able to support many more members of our community and have a sustainable business. We keep our sights set on community minded initiatives and health and wellness. My own philosophy of health that we should focus on physical health but also on our mental and spiritual health as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The acupuncture clinic my business partner created in Fort Collins is a cornerstone of the wellness community here. I have to say it is a true gift to have worked with and supported so many people in our city over the years. The thing that is most exciting to me is to see people come to us for help and watch them begin to feel better, more whole and then go out and share this with others!

Starting this business 15 years ago was an amazing challenge. The wellness industry really didn’t exist at the capacity it does now. So, we changed things with our business model, and within our community. We have grown through word of mouth support, dedication of our practices, and our incredibly committed clients who want to focus on their own wellness path.
The most important lesson I have learned over these years is that persistence and consistency are the best things we can offer each other. It is really important to show up for yourself and others. People are seeking a life better lived, we are a huge support for many to do just that.

My personal practice philosophy and the future of my work centers around not just health and wellness but, the true integration of the mind, body and spiritual or soul self. I would love for those I help to feel more expansive, supported, whole, and comfortable along their life journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Northern Colorado, there is so much to do in Colorado it would be hard to narrow it down but, I think the best part of being in Colorado is being outside! There are so many local hikes, for sure Rocky Mountain National Park would be a must do, Nederland and Lyons are great stops. I would take them on a tour of my local favorite coffee shops including Little Bird Cafe in Fort Collins, The Muse in Loveland. A day in Boulder to soak up the food, the walking mall on Pearl Street. During concert season Red Rocks is a must experience. Really the list is endless but, soaking up the Colorado sun is mandatory.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to all of those who have mentored, supported and loved me along the way. My path has unfolded through many years of seeking and learning and for those whom I have crossed paths with, I am grateful.
