Meet Casey Lesieur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Casey Lesieur and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casey, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to work 7 days per weeks and had no work/life balance. After constantly getting burnt out and drained from too many hours, I decided to cut back and focus more on me. Since I have been able to have a day or two off, I have been able to pick up one of my favorite hobbies again: gymnastics. Since I have started competing in adult gymnastics, my efficiency has improved in both work and life! I have better habits when I have that work/life balance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always had a responsibility to take care of myself. In college, my mother passed away and I was forced to look out for myself being so far away from home. Of course, my dad was always there whenever I needed him. He taught me how to be strong. After college, my father passed away and I was forced to grow up fast. I never had my parents to pay for things and took on my own financial responsibilities early in life. This has helped shape me into the independent woman I am today. I love helping others and sharing suggestions on how to get through obstacles no matter how big or how small.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending on the season, I would take my friend to the mountains for snowboarding or to the lake for paddle boarding. We would definitely have a different adventure daily and get a good workout in! I like to share the most interesting places like Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods, Loveland Pass, Bear Creek Lake Park, 16th Street Mall, and various hiking trails for biking or walking. We would check out the food scene in downtown Denver and visit some vegetarian restaurants. We would end each day with a relaxing hot tub session or go to Idaho Hot Springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could not be as successful as I am without my sports psychologist, Tim Plucinski. He has helped me overcome so many obstacles in work, life, and sports. He helped me get that mental edge that was missing before. I am very grateful for him!
