We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassie Rhoda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassie, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
The peace of Jesus. I’ve been through a lot of suffering in my life and the only thing that is consistent in making me happy or more so joyful in life is trusting Jesus and receiving the promise of His peace. Whether I was in a hospital bed, living in hotel rooms in a time of crisis, or hiking in the mountains surrounded by wildflowers, the one true factor that allowed me to have pure joy in all circumstances was peace.

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.” -John 14:27

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create beautiful works of art to shine the light of Jesus, share with those suffering and in need, and inspire others to do the same. I, too, know what it’s like to suffer a lot in life. My life has basically been the book of Job in the Bible rewritten. I’ve endured through being a disabled wife and mom suffering through severe chronic illness and a stroke in my twenties and early thirties, abuse and trauma, financial hardship, infertility, massive heartbreaks and loss, persecution, and a lot more. So I can relate. Jesus was with me through it, redeemed my story, and even miraculously healed me so I can comfort and help others endure, too. We all need some beauty, hope, peace, and joy to come alongside of us in our darkest and weakest moments, and that’s my mission to plant that kind of art and encouragement in dark and lonely places.

Because I know what it’s like to be in need, I love sharing my resources with those in need. A portion of all proceeds coming in through this business goes to a prayed over ministry, family, or individual to help care and share with those who are in need. (contact me if you want more information)

In the art world, painting is my thing. Mixed mediums including watercolor and acrylics and mixing them together are what I currently love experimenting with and do the most of. Marbling with watercolor is one of my specialities. Most of the art I create is inspired by the beauty in God’s creation—especially flowers. Flowers just make me happy! Currently, I am working on some projects on large canvas and have been itching to do very large paintings so I am excited to be expanding into more murals, too. My current goal is to license my artwork and partner with brands, stores, and companies to get my artwork to more people. Painting encouraging, joy-filled murals in hospitals and doctors offices as a way to spread a little sunshine into the chronic illness community is another goal I’m working toward. And of course, I’d love to give a piece of art away in a charity auction this year.

If you’ve got a project involving paint…I’m there!

You can check out my website below for more of what I do, collabs ( I love collabs!), and my current artwork that is for sell.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Colorado has an endless supply of beauty and fun! I’m usually outdoors hiking in the Colorado mountains with friends and family, Ute Valley being a favorite spot. If I’m not outdoors hiking or painting, you’ll find me browsing through the flower and art shops just for fun, on a “coffee walk and talk” date with my Hubby at Loyal Coffee, or curled up watching a Hallmark mystery movie with my teenage daughter. For a day out we love to eat at Ted’s Montana Grill or getting a burger salad at Bad Daddy’s Burgers (I’m a grain-free girlie) and stop by the Boho and Grace boutique in Paris Marketplace inside the Briargate Promenade. There’s plenty to do and so much more to explore.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this specific shoutout to my teenage daughter, Jalie. I know a lot of parents are the main supporters in their kids hopes and dreams, but in my story it has been my daughter that has encouraged and lifted me up in courage to fight for mine. She has been my sweetness in the wreckage of hardship in my adult life. The laughter and joy she brings to my life inspires me to paint and create. The blessing God has given me through her is nothing short of God’s perfect timing. She is the reason I continually keep fighting in faith for this God-given dream. My motivation to keep going is to show her the goodness of God through our obedience to build something special in this art business with God.
