Hi Catalina, how do you think about risk?
Risk-taking has been a central theme in my life and career, shaping my journey and defining my success. From the early days of my career in income tax preparation and home insurance, I always felt a pull towards entrepreneurship. Influenced by my mother, a successful entrepreneur, I knew that taking calculated risks could lead to significant rewards.
The transition from a stable job to pursuing real estate full-time was a pivotal risk. It required leaving the comfort of a secure income and venturing into the uncertain world of real estate during a pandemic. This decision was driven by a deep-seated belief in myself and a desire to follow my passion, even when the path wasn’t clear. The tragic loss of a friend further solidified my resolve to seize opportunities and live without regrets.
In real estate, every deal involves an element of risk, whether it’s navigating market fluctuations or guiding first-time homebuyers through the complex process. My willingness to take these risks has allowed me to close deals successfully and build a fulfilling career. Each risk taken is a step towards growth, learning, and ultimately achieving my goals.
Risk-taking, for me, is about embracing uncertainty with confidence and making informed decisions that align with my long-term vision. It’s about balancing ambition with practicality and always being ready to adapt and learn. This approach has not only helped me thrive in real estate but has also allowed me to help others achieve their dreams, guiding them through one of the most significant decisions of their lives. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business revolves around providing exceptional real estate services, specializing in guiding first-time homebuyers and individuals through the intricate process of buying or selling a home. What truly sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to personalized service and the genuine care I have for my clients’ needs. I strive to make each transaction smooth, transparent, and tailored to the unique circumstances of each client.
I am incredibly proud of the trust and relationships I have built with my clients. Their satisfaction and happiness in finding their dream homes or achieving their selling goals are the greatest rewards. These successes fuel my passion for real estate and drive me to continuously enhance my services and expertise.
The journey to where I am today has been filled with challenges. Transitioning from a secure job to pursuing a full-time career in real estate was a daunting task. It required a leap of faith, a great deal of dedication, and the support of key individuals in my life. Overcoming these challenges has taught me several important lessons.
Resilience and perseverance are crucial in overcoming obstacles and achieving success. Building strong relationships and maintaining a network of support are essential for growth and learning. Additionally, staying adaptable and continuously learning about market trends and new strategies is vital in an ever-evolving industry.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of my clients. My business is built on principles of trust, integrity, and a deep-seated passion for helping people achieve their real estate dreams. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a property, or exploring investment opportunities, I am committed to providing expert guidance and unwavering support throughout the process. My story is one of passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in the real estate industry.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week-long trip showcasing the best of Denver with a friend, I’d kick things off with a dining experience at one of my favorite sushi spots—Hapa Sushi, Sushi Den, or Matsuhisa in Cherry Creek. Each offers a unique atmosphere and exceptional sushi that’s perfect for starting the trip on a high note.
For a fun evening, we’d head to 54thirty Rooftop for some drinks with a view, or to Happy Camper for a more laid-back vibe with great cocktails. If we’re in the mood for a fancy dinner later in the week, Shanahan’s, Ocean Prime, or The Capital Grille would be on the list for top-notch steaks and a classy Denver dining experience.
Beyond dining, Denver is full of activities and sights. We would definitely visit the Denver Art Museum and the nearby Clyfford Still Museum to soak in some culture. For a day outdoors, a trip to the Denver Botanic Gardens or a hike at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre would be ideal to enjoy the natural beauty and maybe catch an evening concert if the timing is right.
I’d also plan a day for exploring the historic Union Station and the surrounding LoDo District, where we can grab a bite at Mercantile Dining & Provision, followed by some local brews at Wynkoop Brewing Company. For a taste of local arts and nightlife, the RiNo (River North Art District) offers fantastic street art, galleries, breweries, and live music spots.
A must-do would be a trip to Boulder for a day, just a short drive away, to stroll along the Pearl Street Mall and enjoy the vibrant street performers and unique shops. We could wrap up the trip with a relaxing day at the Denver Central Market, sampling different foods from local vendors and soaking up the lively atmosphere.
This itinerary combines the culinary highlights, cultural experiences, and natural beauty of Denver, ensuring a memorable week full of diverse activities and new experiences.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! There are several key influences and supporters who have played a significant role in my journey. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shoutout to my mother. Her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering support have been a constant source of inspiration for me. Watching her navigate the challenges of running her own business instilled in me the courage to take risks and pursue my own entrepreneurial dreams.
I also want to recognize Jon Yacovetta from Guide Real Estate, who was my mentor when I first started in real estate. His guidance, wisdom, and encouragement were invaluable as I navigated the early stages of my career. Jon’s insights helped me develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this field.
Additionally, my friends and family, especially my two older brothers, deserve recognition for their support and encouragement. They have been there to celebrate the successes and offer a listening ear during the tough times. Their belief in me has been a driving force, reminding me that I’m never alone on this journey.
Lastly, I’d like to mention the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. This book has been a game-changer for me, providing not just practical advice but also a mindset shift that has been crucial in my personal and professional development.
Each of these influences has contributed to where I am today, and I am deeply grateful for their impact on my life and career.
