We had the good fortune of connecting with C’eirra Stockwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C’eirra, how do you think about risk?
I find comfort in risk. Risk is typically an equivalent to fear, anxiety, doubt, or suppression for most people. The risk of failure or embarrassment of the unknown.
But what if it’s just what you know? What if you’ve become friends with the fear. What if a life full of risks has turned out pretty good so far?
Risk, to me, is powerful. Risks make one a better person, no matter the outcome.
Life is about learning and with every risk is lesson. As the dust settles, it’s how you perceive the risk taken and learn from it.
I’ve risked a lot in my path to where I am and my risks have made me stronger, more confident, and proud.
Starting a business in such a saturated city is a risk I am proud of taking. I believe I have a special talent and I know I’m my heart it will be a success.
I believe taking the leap is always risky but as long as you believe in yourself, anything is possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I moved to Denver on my 30th birthday, I had no idea what I was going to do. I just new I had to go somewhere to grow and that ND was not it.
I had worked at a restaurant in Albuquerque in my 20s that had a store here, so that was my first step. I applied, got the job immediately, slept in my car a few nights and showered at a truck stop. I was in contact with an old friend from ND & we found an apartment. I started working as many hours as possible.
After being here a year, I got my own beautiful apartment. I was so proud of my accomplishments and wanted to continue to manifest all the amazing things.
I started dating (my now fiancé) and looked on Groupon for a Brazilian wax. I found England Esthetics and Alex is amazing at all she does. Starting to talk to her about making money with body waxing (as I’ve always waxed myself and friends) I began playing with the thought of a career in it.
Around the same time, my previous roommates older sister was attending SBMA (School of Botanical & Medical Aesthetics) and needed models for a certification. I went to the school and got my first dermaplane facial. The school was beautiful & in downtown Denver.
I became really intrigued with the idea of aesthetics. I thought “I can do lash extensions + body waxing and I might do ok”.
So I toured 5 schools between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, one being SBMA. I wasn’t sold on any of them except one. I loved SBMA, plus they offered the most certifications with their licensing program. There was one problem… It was $11,000 with no loan/ assistance program.
I didn’t know anyone with that kinda money. I also didn’t come from the kind of background where that would even be an option. But I was an independent woman, with no kids, and a good job. So I told myself, “one year”. I would give myself one year to work my a** off and see what I could do. I worked 40-70 hours a week. I moved up fast & the management knew they could call me when someone didn’t show up and I’d be there. And I was.
A year later, January 2019 I went back to SBMA and I signed up. I put $6,500 down and had monthly payments for a year to pay the rest. I was to start in March & attend night classes 2x a week. I was ecstatic & beaming with badassery!
One week before class started I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant with my first child. All the doubt and fear of making this risk was heavy but I pushed forward. I decided to focus on the positives and take my news as a learning tool for the yeses and nos of pregnancy and aesthetics.
I really enjoyed school and never had studied and leaned in like I did there. We were required hands on hours for school, so I reached out to my roommates older sister. She agreed to let me shadow her at her medspa in Cherry Creek. I did most of my hours there taking clients at discounted prices and practice appointments.
When I completed my schooling in August I was hired on at the medspa and it was one of my biggest blessings. I learned soooo much.
In May my fiancé and I bought our home, in October we had our first child & in March 2020 (after taking 12 weeks to recover from a traumatic labor and delivery) I had my state boards tests. I had still been working light hours at the medspa but then Covid hit 2 days before my testing was scheduled. As the world shut down, the medspa stayed open because it was located in a hospital. This was a godsend in my career path as most of my additional certifications were earned one on one hands on training while working there. Everything kept moving in my favor as well as throwing me a few speed bumps.
I worked there for 4 yrs. I specialized in Hair Restoration with Anteage Hair serum and Skinpen Microneedling (scalp, face and body), VI Peel (face and body), Procell microneedling, RF microneedling by Vivace, Thermismooth cellulite treatments, Lash lifting, Brow & Lash Tinting, Henna brow, Semi-Permanent Mascara, Diamond Glow Micodermabration Facials, Dermaplane Facials & Body Waxing. I’ve worked with product lines such as Skinmedica, Dr Hauschka, Elta Md, Epionce, Anteage, VI Derm, & Color Up Therapeutics (since rebranded as VXN Wellness).
I had my second child in 2022. Life got busy! I was able to make my own schedule but while on maternity leave I had more or less been replaced and upon my return to the medspa there wasn’t enough client to staff ratio.
2023 was a tough year at the medspa. I had taken over our social media and the role was very bittersweet. Making 6 posts a week (3 posts & 3 reels) was a lot as a mama of 2 tiny humans. (My fiancé and I don’t to childcare so we switch am/pm with the kids 5 days a week.) I’d never done any kind of marketing and I learned a lot! I am grateful for the growth & education I’ve learned in that chapter.
In August 2023 I turned 37 and I started playing with the idea of starting a business of my own. My idea was that I could focus on Full Body Waxing, Lash Lifts, & Dermaplane Facials. Lash Lifts are one of my gifted talents and I had a pretty good group of supporters to get me out there by word of mouth.
September I left the medspa. I took the risk. I started Beauty Beep Aesthetics in October 2023.
Alex, owner of England Esthetics has become a great friend over the last 7 years & has always offered me to share her space located in VXN Wellness Center. The time had come and I was able to move into her space while she was on maternity leave. It was another perfectly timed risk that fell perfectly into place. I just had to get supplies and set up the business side of things but the room was already all set and it was a smooth and fairly easy start.
Recently Alex had found a space closer to her new home in SW Littleton area and over Mother’s Day she moved out of our shared space. Her move had put me in an exciting and yet risky/ nerve racking spot. She gave me a very honorable time of notice. (She was the most respectful and supportive friend), thank you, Alex for being exactly you.
I had little to nothing to furnish a spa space. I had an esthetic table, a small wax pot, an old steamer + lamp that was a hand me down from years ago (and I wasn’t even sure if it worked) and a chair. So to Facebook Marketplace I went for furniture, Ross and Home Goods for shelving and decor, and Temu for other odds and ends in decorating the place. We patched holes and I painted the entire room. I am grateful to the people that lended a hand, my mom and stepdads expertise over FaceTime, & my fiancé for all the extra hours alone being super dad while I worked long hours trying to stay open and take clients through it all. Seriously even a single room remodel was killer haha.
Today I write this and I am beaming with pride. I am honored to be connected to such incredible people and I’ve met a few angels along the way. I am so very happy I took the risk. My business has bloomed over the last 6 months and I very much look forward to seeing what’s in store.
On May 20th 2024 I took another risk. I leaped & signed up for laser school at Rocky Mountain School Of Laser. I’m currently taking a 20hr online course (which for me has proven to be 30-40 because I am a overly thorough student and have a hard time w online course work) & on the 17th I’ll be taking a 60hr in person course that will certify me in Laser Hair Removal, Tattoo Removal, & Skin Resurfacing.
My hopes are to join a new Medspa environment/ team to learn off of eachother and work together to grow in the industry. Laser Treatments, I believe, are best when you have a good team behind you. It’s important to me to find happiness and ambition to be our best and learn together. To lead together.
I will continue working at Beauty Beep Aesthetics as my menu is limited and non medical.
Dreams can only come true if you believe all things are possible and if you take the risk (the leap)!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooo I like this question…
Hanging Lake would be our first day/ overnight trip. It’s magical and reminds me of Fern Gully, a movie I watched on repeat as a child. As we came back to the city we would have to stop at Smokin Yards BBQ in Idaho Springs.
Breckenridge Brewery is a cool family friendly environment so that’s probably on the list. Yabby Hut for some Cajun boil experience (I didn’t know these existed growing up in ND). We’d have to have a day to play downtown so Tap 14 would be where we’d start. It’s my absolute favorite rooftop bar downtown. They serve only CO made and grown food and drinks. The Refinery is a stop while down in that area as well. I e always wondered from there and found some super cool places.
We would have to see if Red Rocks was hosting a yoga on the rocks or just go for sunrise (bc it’s my kind of church).
Souel Korean BBQ & hotpot, Snowl for dessert, Urban Egg for breakfast, Piper Inn for wings and beer (a biker bar that reminds me of home), Pearl of Siam for some incredible thia food take out (the owner is one of thee kindest men), Happy Camper to feel young and hip haha (and the food is great!)
Then, of course I’d have to show off my spa space inside of VXN Wellness Center (it’s a gorgeous & zen space). There’s an amazing full body massage place called Mins Reflexology close to me that we’d have to stop at too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am very grateful for my mother. As 1 of 10 children (7 girls & 3 boys) life was always a bit crazy for her. My grandparents were loving and stable but obviously a bit outnumbered. None the less I come from a strong and loving family. As an outcome, my mother raised me to be mindful, honest, strong, and hardworking. Our life wasn’t easy & my mom raised my brothers and I while working multiple jobs. She started her career in cosmetology when I was a young teen and by the time I was 24 she started her own salon.
She has always been my biggest rock. She’s questioned me when I needed it but always been my most supportive & loving motivator.
Secondly, I’m grateful for my former boss. I was hired at a top medspa in Cherry Creek straight out of esthetics school. I was able to gain a ton of experience in this chapter. I worked there for 4 years and although the time was bittersweet I am truly grateful for the opportunities that it offered me. At the end of that chapter, I learned a lot about the industry. My take away holds both things I admire, along with things I will be nothing like.
Lastly, I am grateful for my friend Nina. I call her my second mom. In my youth, I was a “rebel without a cause” so to say. Although Nina had 3 younger children of her own, she was always a call away. She always made room for me at her table and she is pretty much the reason I graduated high school. Her belief in me and the time and support she lovingly offered has played a huge role in who I am today.
Cheers to the strong woman who helped me grow & gave me a chance to live.
