Meet Chad Larson | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad Larson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Keep learning. Never stop to think that you have learned it all and don’t need to learn anything more, I always learn something new from every shoot I do and others that I work with. Once you stop learning you become stale.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I try to capture the moment and edit for the situation or venue I was in. I always try to change it up instead of doing the same thing over and over but ultimately it’s whatever the client likes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a few places I like to take people when they come to town the first time. Usually bars like Union Lodge No. 1, Williams & Graham and Star Bar or Brass Tacks. Food is usually up to whatever they like. But, haven’t gone out a ton since covid happened.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So over the last few years, I have looked to a few other photographers for advice and guidance one a couple locally and mainly Amanda Baker Gobdel. A friend in Memphis who along with his wife make an awesome wedding photographer team, Rob and Deanna photography. And over the last 2 years I have been mentored by Jason Lanier, a world-renowned photographer who has worked for Sony and Rotolight and has been a huge influence on the way I shoot.
