We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Hess and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We all go to a salon to get our hair, nails, lashes, ect done to make ourselves feel beautiful but that’s not the only reasons nor do we all go for the same exact thing. We are all unique in our own ways, living our unique lives. I wanted to create a space that make a client feel as comfortable as they would be in their own home while assisting in their individual beauty desires. There is no better feeling than going in for a service and leaving with exactly what you were looking for and feeling more relaxed and beautiful than before.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When creating a set of lashes or even making a piece of jewelry, everything is 100% customizable to each individual client. No two clients are going to come in and leave with the exact same design. Every lash set, fullness, length, color, shape is all formulated to the individual and to their style. We are all unique and that’s one thing as an artist that is always emphasized.
Creating a business is tough, especially creating most of it completely on your own. Having clients that have stuck by my side for over 5 years and continue to come see me for services is by far my greatest accomplishment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You can’t come to Colorado without the Rocky Mountains. I always enjoy taking someone up to Estes Park. That way they get the best of both worlds, a little city and a lot of mountain. I just think going for a drive up there, walking around all the cute shops, and enjoying a nice lunch outside on a patio is one of the most stress relieving experiences.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I never would have gotten to where I am without the love and support of my trainer, Charlene G. (Previous owner of Vixen Lashes in Old Town, Fort Collins) who trained me to give the up most professional lash services possible and that of my family who told me to go for it if it’s something I believe in.
