We had the good fortune of connecting with Chiara Baldini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chiara, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always wanted to be involved in creative, cultural projects. I have studied History of Art, specializing in contemporary art. I think art can help us understand the world, which sometimes seems so mysterious and obscure revealing what is underneath the reality’s surface. That is the vision I wanted to share with my job. I started working in a contemporary art gallery as a gallery assistant. Then I worked for a few years in Sweden, in North Europe, as event coordinator & communication manager for an institution in the cultural diplomacy sector, promoting events dedicated to literature, art, architecture, design, cinema and fashion. All these past experiences have been fundamental for my career and led me to start my own business as a social media manager & content strategist. Today my aim is to collaborate with different realities, artists, institutions, galleries, museums or theaters and let their projects be discovered and known by as many people as possible, to create connections and new opportunities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Building your own businesses is never easy. Every day you are in charge of making decisions about your work, your career, your business, your future. At the same time, you are motivated to be the best version of yourself everyday, in order to let your business grow and evolve with you. In my professional path, working abroad has taught me the importance of culture as a mediator and meeting point between people. It helped me to understand how it is important to communicate a message by tuning it to the people you are talking to, in order to speak the same language. Art and culture can lead us to reflect on the world we are living in, processing the events that happen around us and finding a way towards the future. Thanks to the years abroad, I had the chance to understand how culture can be important for our society, bringing people together and letting them know each other. I wanted to do this on a larger scale, getting in contact with different cultures and discovering new realities and projects all around the world. I am always ready to jump onboard new projects and I hope new opportunities can come across in the next future. Today I bring all the experiences and the lessons I learned in all the projects I work on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I fell in love with Denver from the first time I visited it, so I would definitely take my bestfriend around the city to discover museums, galleries, bars and restaurants on foot. My first stop would be the Denver Art Museum designed by Gio Ponti, to cherish my Italian origins. The museum has a great collection that leads you into European and American history.
Meowolf is one of my absolute favorite spots, so it’s always worth a stop.
I would take her to the Union Station to discover the 1914 Beaux-Arts style architecture and stroll around Downtown with its historic neighborhood, breweries and red-bricks buildings. Then off to the 16th Street Mall to have lunch at YumCha which is a must for me: I love their Asian kitchen.
I also love taking a street art’s walking tour through RiNo (River North Art District) and Santa Fe art districts.
Last but not least, I like to wander around the city by walking: I think it is the best way to discover Denver and be ready to be amazed by it, finding always new corners.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am here at this point of my life thanks to the support, mentorship, love and encouragement of the people I met in different times and stages of my career. Beside my family and my friends, who always supported and encouraged me by giving me advice, my first boss and a special colleague when I was living in Sweden trusted me, my talent and skills and my work from the beginning. I learnt most of the things I know today from them, who progressively gave me more responsibilities, leading me to grow and to believe in myself.
