We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Weber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The genesis of Radical Roots was borne out of a deeply personal experience – when my son Remy was diagnosed with an incredibly rare and challenging genetic disorder called STXBP1. This condition manifests itself not just through physical and cognitive disabilities, but also induces intractable epilepsy. In my dual roles as a devoted mother and an experienced Doctor of Chinese Medicine, I felt compelled to find an innovative and holistic way to enhance his development and mitigate his seizures. This journey led me to a deep exploration of hemp.

Despite trying products from countless renowned brands, I remained convinced that hemp, when formulated accurately with complementary herbs, could be significantly more effective. This approach could amplify the healing properties, while simultaneously addressing the root causes of the symptoms – the underlying patterns of disharmony that Remy, and many others, grapple with.

This conviction guided me to create our inaugural formula – “Remy’s Revenge”. Tailored initially for Remy, the transformative improvement it brought to his quality of life was profound and undeniable. At that moment, I realized the immense potential this formula held and the imperative to share it with a wider audience.

Of course, launching a new venture as a single mother juggling a bustling acupuncture practice was far from an ideal situation. However, the journey has been immensely rewarding. Each message I receive from fellow parents and customers, sharing how our herbal formulations have benefitted them, serves as a reminder that the hard work and sacrifice are undeniably worth it.

What should our readers know about your business?
To me, it is an immense privilege to intertwine the potency of Chinese medicine and high-quality hemp, bringing them to the broader world. My passion lies in empowering and enabling people to understand health, to be proactive in nurturing their wellbeing, and to extend that care to their family. I must admit that I love the control I have over the excellence of our products – a responsibility I undertake with utmost dedication. I have never compromised on quality, using only the highest-grade herbs and the most refined extraction methods. While this might elevate the price point of our products, it also exponentially enhances their effectiveness!

However, as an herbalist venturing into blending Chinese herbs with Hemp, the journey has not been without its trials. The regulatory landscape surrounding hemp is complex and, at times, nearly impenetrable, particularly for a small-scale enterprise operating with limited resources and minimal external support. The challenges were unexpected, but we remain steadfast in our mission.
