We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Meisenhelter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine, what are you inspired by?
the small moments in life: running into someone you haven’t seen in awhile, enjoying nature, holding the door open for a stranger, randomly bringing a friend flowers how we function, why we do things the way we do
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Primarily I am a bassist, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and artist. I spend most of my time performing and writing music. I love to make songs that you want to listen to in the car, right before sunset with the windows down and you hair flowing in the breeze. I love that nostalgic time of day when you long for adventure, love, and think fondly on past memories. I thrive on pondering the connections between others and myself – constantly trying to learn why we are the way we are and why we do what we do. Recently I have also been exploring other mediums of creativity to express myself including painting, poetry, and photography. I am really excited about my new song release on 6/15 – GardenState. I think this song is opening up a new era of my creativity and is certainly more vulnerable than anything I’ve released prior.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sadly my best friend lives in NJ so when she does visit, I love to take her to my favorite spots! We usually walk along the Bluffs in the Palisades and visit the beach, grab ice cream and Salt & Straw, go on a hike in the Santa Monica mountains, see a movie at Cinespia, and hang out with my friends in Siverlake. Truly just spending time with someone you love so much is all you need – it doesn’t matter where you go.
