We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Nairn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been pretty artsy with a business edge. I just love looking through design boards and exploring new design trends/concepts. I feel like creativity runs through my veins..from my overall aesthetic, designing properties, cooking meals etc. My perspective on life is, how can I make this better and a bit more fun? It only made sense for me to jump into design and Real Estate.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my knowledge and being available to my clients. I’ve been in the industry for almost 15 years and have seen large downturns and upticks in our market. It teaches you about historical comparables in neighborhoods, landmark comparables in others, and gives you a really good investment strategy. Having a strong eye for condition matters and my background in remodeling houses helps this. I’m able to guide my clients during a transaction and help them hire specialists when needed. This means expert roofers, electricians, plumbers, general contractors, etc.
Real estate has to be one of the hardest industries to work in. You help clients through multiple periods of their life while handling the largest asset they own. To say it’s high stress is an understatement..being able to expertly guide clients through a transaction while being cognizant of their vantage point really helps. When I look at obstacles or challenges within a particular scenario, I pick apart the roadblock piece by piece. The old saying still rings true..to eat an elephant do it one bite at a time.
When I think of all the lessons that I’ve learned along my journey in real estate, I would name a few key points for sure. Be organized, on time, available to your clients (answer the phone), accurate and sensitive to their particular situation, whatever that may be.
Things I would want the world to know about me is when you hire my team and I..you’ll get expert representation from start to finish. We’re balanced, measured, and strategic while working with clients for the best possible outcome.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A weekend getaway in the city with one of my besties would have to include quite a few of the hot spots here in Denver.
-Friday night drinks at The Ramble followed by dinner at Guard & Grace.
-Saturdays are so fun here in the city! We’d check out the farmers market at Union Station and have brunch Bar-Dough. They have the best signature cocktails and brunch drinks. For dinner, we’d dine at Mister Oso followed by drinks at Clayton Club or Forget Me Knot.
-Sunday-I LOVE a casual Sunday! We’d recharge our batteries in the morning with an IV & B12 shots at Hydrate IV Bar and drive to Boulder for a scenic hike through Sanitas Valley Loop. We’d stop for lunch at OAK on Pearl Street and head back home to get ready for dinner. Sunday dinners are always so special..it’s a time to recharge your batteries and get ready for the week. I’d let my guest choose between Water Grill or A5..both are SPECTACULAR.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say life is about the collective! Everyone we come into contact with shapes our journey. Now of course there’s been really influential friends and relatives that have helped build my career. My parents, Rudy & Nicole, my sister, Chevon, my extended family Laura & Jack, and my best friend Julie. Julie and I started in real estate in 08 during the housing crash and have worked together ever since. We’ve designed homes together and worked through tough deals, while bouncing ideas off each other.
