We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Mathis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CDG has been around for almost a decade. That’s saying quite a lot considering cannabis is so volatile. It’s like being knee deep in mud most days. And while I’m so proud that we have survived the turbulence, I honor the most – that we have left a fingerprint of Impact in our ecosystem – winning awards, flying all over the country to stages from the West to East coasts, influencing business operations for brands everywhere, and demonstrating that Doing Good is actually good for business.

Kelly and I are moms, entrepreneurs, lovers of the mountains and sea, dedicated to art in many forms, and have juggled health, parenting, political uncertainty, and challenging financial moments in our journey so far. It has kept us painfully humble and also allowed us to embrace our humanity – bringing part of ourselves into the business. This next chapter – we get the privilege of watching our business grow and evolve – yet again – this time to something truly transformative. If you don’t yet know us, we hope we get to meet you soon. Stay tuned.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start the day with a morning hike and a picnic at Mt Falcon, head over to Evergreen for lunch at Creekside. After a yummy soup and sandwich snack with a view, we’d pop over to Woodhouse Spa for a massage. Finishing up at their Golden location, we would swoop by Golden Mill for a tasty balcony happy hour and lunch, then finish the day with a show at Red Rocks. Of course, if party favors were needed, we could swing into Simple Pure, L’eagle, Terrapin or Social Cannabis for an elevated night. Not a lot of driving, local, easy, no fuss and not expensive. A low-key perfect Colorado day 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My business partner and work-wife Kelly Perez. You have grown me up, nurtured me and our business, and helped show me that business can, in fact, be done, through a balance of self-love, patience, and compassion. The hustle was never needed, just the courage to withstand time. Thank you for all the gifts you’ve give to me and our company.
