We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Deichert LPC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Born and raised in North Dakota, I was brought up as a good Catholic. Values of working hard and doing for others were instilled throughout my childhood. While many of these values remain important to me today, the way I show them in my everyday life has changed drastically. In my 30’s I experienced a shift in the way that I view the world, and my spirituality came front and center. I am now a recovering catholic, who works on managing feelings of guilt, shame, and the obligations of things I “should” do in my life. I also help my clients with this struggle in their own lives.
As this shift started happening within my life, it began to impact my relationship with others and most importantly with my family. As an overachiever, I always found myself trying to do more, accomplish more, and finding ways to prove that I was good enough. Little did I understand at the time, these feelings of inadequacy led me to fill a family role of making things better and being the child my parents didn’t have to worry about. So, when I began to change my views on spirituality and chose to leave organized religion, I feared losing my family as they were openly disappointed and frustrated with my decision. I witnessed the many forms of manipulation and persuasion they would use to try and coarse me back to their point of view.
However, with my new connection to myself, a deeper understanding of energy work, and broader views on how we are all connected, I began to feel like I am enough. I found happiness and joy, freedom and security like never before. I began to feel whole and connected; even genuine and authentic. I couldn’t deny this shift had happened, but by embracing the me that was born and raised in North Dakota with the me who felt whole and authentic I have been able to create a life I have always dreamed of in Maui.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a licensed mental health professional, who has worked with clients of all ages, symptoms, and diagnoses, and have found a specialty in treating humans. We all experience our lives being impacted by mental health symptoms, but all of our experiences are unique. I focus on heart centered healing and bring crystal clear clarity to the confusion we experience in our life. My journey was not easy, but was clearly driven by my inner self. Staying true to who I am and my unique gifts, I have found a way to connect with people to spark a desired change in them and their life. My clients share that they feel seen, heard, and most importantly understood. Their lives transformed with more joy, happiness, and abundance.
A major obstacle I am overcoming is being able to find people who believe that they can make changes in their life and are desiring to feel more fulfilled. During these uncertain times, many are trying to survive and don’t believe they can thrive. These people tend to feel heaviness in their chest, a weight on their shoulders, and/or knots in their stomach. I am able to help people work through these burdens and be free of them.
I have learned that we don’t have to go through life suffering alone in silence. There are people who can help and are ready to. I partner with many healing professionals to help my clients receive what they need.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite places to visit when I am back in Colorado are family and friends, but then we go to the mountains for hiking. Preferable a trail with rivers, waterfalls, or a lake. We love going to Torches Tacos and Machete’s for a fun night out. Spending time in Boulder, Niwot, and Longmont areas, definitely bring fun times with interesting people. Yet, enjoying the biking paths and nature trails throughout the Denver Metro area, also bring new and exciting experiences.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to Shoutout Janine Bolon of the 8 Gates and Linda Shay with Dolphinity. These two ladies provided me so much love and support, as well as encouragement and motivation on my journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them! Mahalo nui loa!!!
