We had the good fortune of connecting with Damon Caldwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think of risk as something that becomes manageable when you fully focus and embrace the tasks others avoid. When you bet on yourself and fully commit, it’s no longer a risk—it’s an investment in your own capabilities. By doing the less glamorous, high-effort work that people tend to sidestep, you minimize the uncertainty—what others see as a risk becomes an opportunity to stand out and add unique value. This approach has been key to my success; it transforms potential risks into a clear path forward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I entered real estate in 2020, I was diving in at a time of historically low interest rates, where demand was high and competition was fierce. I was thrown into the fire, working alongside Colorado Springs’ top agents with my employing broker as part of the Elite 25 and going to broker open houses in million-dollar homes. Those early experiences of rubbing shoulders with industry leaders challenged me to grow quickly and raised the bar for the standards I hold today. Becoming the best realtor I can be took hard work and perseverance, but I trusted the process. Now, as *The Colorado Realtor,* I’m proud to bring this expertise and dedication to every client.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend coming to Colorado Springs for a week we’d start with a walk through Garden of the Gods to take in the stunning red rock formations, followed by a trip to Pikes Peak for breathtaking views. I’d plan a day in Manitou Springs to explore its unique shops and mineral springs, then head to The Broadmoor for lunch or maybe even a round of golf. A hike at Red Rock Canyon would be perfect to mix in some nature, and for a bit of history we’d see the historic sites around Old Colorado City. To cap things off, a day trip to Cripple Creek for a taste of Colorado’s mining history would make for a memorable close to the week. Whether it’s exploring, dining, or just enjoying the mountain views, they’d leave with a real feel for Colorado Springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe much of my success to my employing broker, Rob Reinmuth at Acquire Real Estate. He introduced me to the real estate industry with high standards, guided me into the luxury market, and helped me find my niche in assisting clients who are looking for homes with main-level living in Patio Homes. His mentorship has been invaluable in shaping my career. Thanks Action!!!
