Meet Daniel Huerter | CEO and Founder of Pure Spectrum CBD

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Huerter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
This business was imperative for me to start. I learned about CBD in 2014 and went to a grand opening event for a CBD business where I met a veteran and a child with Dravet Syndrome. Both of them had incredible stories about how CBD changed their life.

After that, I contacted the company and started selling CBD on the side to family and friends and encountered more and more miraculous outcomes and stories. As I did more research I learned that CBD worked for so many different things and people because we were all born with an Endocannabinoid System (ECS). I started to study this system and was amazed I had never read about it before.

As I dug deeper, I learned that they weren’t even teaching about this system in medical schools because it was so newly discovered. That was the moment that I knew I had to shout from the rooftops and get involved in the industry in a deep way to try and better others’ lives through educating on the ECS and providing high-quality CBD products to support the ECS.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We sell high-quality hemp-based, CBD-forward products that have zero THC in them. We were one of the first if not the first, CBD companies to focus on using ambassadors to help tell our story and get the good word out. We got to where we are today through a ton of great partnerships and a little luck. Being the first company to partner with a major sports organization in 2018, and then the first to partner with the US olympics definitely helped as well.

None of it was easy. Starting this business in 2015 was incredibly difficult. We got kicked out of 3 different banks within our first 6 months of business because there was a ton of confusion about what hemp was and the difference between it and marijuana. We overcame the challenges by being absolutely relentless. We were hearing so many incredible stories from our customers on how we were helping so we just moved forward no matter what setback we faced.

I want the world to know that Pure Spectrum CBD really really cares about our customers and what we do. We are not a large company by any means. I would venture to say we are the most compassionate. We go above and beyond for our customers day in and day out because we know that, without them, we cease to exist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The number one answer for this question should be Red Rocks. I am a gigantic music fan so maybe I am bias, but Red Rocks is the best time ever. For a week long trip, I would say to definitely drive west and visit Evergreen. There is an awesome BBQ spot there called Switchback and, being from Kansas City, I don’t recommend BBQ in Colorado often. After that, you can take a quick hike up at Three Sisters before going to Red Rocks for a show.

If you’re in Denver for a full week I would definitely check out Meow Wolf as well. The thing about Denver is there is absolutely always something to do. I love hanging out in RiNo or LoDo and I’m a big fan of Hana Matsuri Sushi.

My parents deserve more than a little credit and recognition. They made me who I am today. My Dad lead by example and is the hardest worker I know. Being able to retire him is a big goal of mine and one that keeps me focused day in and day out. My Mom was my biggest supported and truly believed I was capable of anything. She believed it so much, I started to believe it myself. I owe everything I’ve become to them and their love and support.
