Meet Daniela Weintraub Kaselow | Airline Pilot & Aviation Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Weintraub Kaselow and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniela, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The hardest decision I have made in my life was to leave my family, friends, and country behind. I was born and raised in Venezuela. When I was completing high-school, I decided that I wanted to become a pilot. Like many Venezuelans, I had to leave my country to look for better opportunities. It was very difficult to leave everything behind. I did not even speak English when I came to the United States back in 2013. However, discipline and perseverance allowed me to learn a new language, to become an airline pilot, and to motivate and inspire many people through social media.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an airline pilot and an aviation influencer. Becoming a pilot has not been easy. There have been many obstacles and challenges in the way. It has been a long process that took many years and sacrifices. Leaving my country, learning a new language, becoming an airline pilot, and inspiring many others are some examples of the things that I have worked so hard for.
Having the support of my family always made the process a little better. I remember, when I was working on my private pilot license, it was challenging for me to learn how to land the airplane. I cried and I was frustrated. However, my father gave me the best advice I could receive for this career, which was “practice will always make you better” and he couldn’t be more right.
I have learned in my journey that we are not motivated every day and that is normal. Therefore, it is so important to have discipline and to be persistent in life. We should always remind ourselves why we started working for that goal we want to achieve.
I love sharing my story because it represents that anybody can achieve their dreams when they work hard for it. My trajectory has not been easy and there have been many obstacles in the way. Companies have said “no” to me in the past, but I kept working hard for what I wanted to achieve. I want people to know that there are ups and downs and those downs are just learning experiences that will help us become who we are today.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just moved to Colorado, so I would love to take my friends to explore all the beautiful spots this state has to offer. It is incredible that the mountains are not too far away from the city.
I would love to share with my friends all the amazing views, national parks, and wildlife you can see in Colorado.
I think every spot in Colorado has its own magic.
Since I just moved to a state where there can be a good amount of snow, I am super excited to learn how to ski this year.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate the shoutout to my parents, my sister, and my husband. I am who I am today because of them.
They have been an incredible support in my life and throughout this journey as an airline pilot.
They have always push me to become better personally and professionally and to keep working hard for my goals.
