We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny, what do you attribute your success to?
The key to Oat Paws success is our dog-friendly ice cream that not only tastes great but also delivers a healthy boost or as we coined it, “A Lick of Health.”

At the core of our brand is the well-being of dogs. As we interact with dogs in the community, our top priority is to ensure that they lead a happy and healthy life. We strive to provide a unique ice cream experience that fills dogs with excitement, joy, and happiness, while also ensuring that it’s a nutritious treat. That’s why we have developed a product that is free from gluten, dairy, and soy. Since canines are omnivorous, we believe that meat should be an essential part of their ice cream as well as providing other nutritional ingredients.

What should our readers know about your business?
In our product we do not use dairy or lactose-free base to make our ice cream. We are most proud of working with local Colorado businesses in the community, especially adoption agencies. We love the opportunity to support adoption events in hopes that each dog find their fur-ever homes. It all began with a single thought – to bring happiness to people and their furry friends by creating a delicious treat. Achieving this goal required a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I spent countless hours in my small kitchen, experimenting with various ingredients to develop the perfect recipe for Oat Paws Ice Cream for Dogs – one that is not only delicious but also healthy and safe for dogs. I also reached out to other pet businesses to introduce them to my product and explain the many benefits that it offers. Through these efforts, I hope to have created a product that will bring joy and satisfaction to pet owners and their beloved companions. One of the biggest challenges we faced was convincing potential customers that our product was a healthy option. Most people associate ice cream with being unhealthy, so we received a lot of comments like “my dog is on a diet” or “my dog has a sensitive stomach” or “my dog is a picky eater,” which made them hesitant to try our product. We overcame the challenges by offering a variety of dog friendly options, including Om3ga Pumpkin, which is good for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Pumpkin is good for digestion health. At events, we offer samples of our ice cream so that dogs can try different flavors. Even the pickiest eaters find a flavor they love. We have a high rate of returning customers who report that their dogs love our products, experience healthy stools, and drool with happiness when it’s time for Oat Paws! Our #1 goal at Oat Paws is to help dogs live longer, healthier lives through our dog-friendly ice cream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take my friends to Denver, as there are many exciting events happening throughout the year, including unique farmer markets, sporting events, and parades. The breweries around the city are also one-of-a-kind, offering an assortment of different foods and beers.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a special mention to my dog, Kora! She is the inspiration behind a healthy dog ice cream that I have created. The reason for this is because I want her to live a long, healthy and happy life, while enjoying yummy treats that won’t cause her to gain excess weight or suffer health issues such as joint inflammation, high blood pressure, or skin and coat problems. With this in mind, I have developed a treat that she loves and that I can offer without worrying about her health.

Kora is also our Chief Food Testing Officer. She tastes all the ice cream and gives her Pawtastic reviews. She is the ultimate voice of the consumer.
