We had the good fortune of connecting with David Rhine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Customer care. As outdoors enthusiasts ourselves we do all we can to make sure our members have the best and safest hunting and fishing experiences possible. We’re a small team but we make sure to be available to our landowners and members 24/7 and work with hunters and anglers to find properties that will best ensure they have a successful trip. For landowners, listing your land takes an incredible amount of trust and we take that very seriously, providing complete control of scheduling and transparency of who will be using their land.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My first experience with writing code was when I joined my robotics team in high school and I have loved it since. It’s a challenge of solving puzzles and requires creative solutions to problems that often have many correct answers. In particular, I enjoy mobile app development because it involves not only having strong technical and coding abilities but also requires design skill and predicting and testing user behavior to create a seamless experience that our users will find intuitive.

I studied Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines and graduated in 2019. After that I moved to Dallas, TX to work on mobile apps for a startup that built a golf training aid. In 2020 I started with Infinite Outdoors in a part-time role then came on full time as CTO in 2021 and moved back to Denver.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely have to get out to the mountains and explore Colorado’s beautiful scenery. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to do the Four Pass Loop in Aspen later this year and are very excited for that. Buena Vista is one of my favorite mountain towns, the Buena Viking has killer food and after a long hike or day out on the water a burger and a beer hits the spot! In Denver one of my favorite things to do is go to the Rockies games on summer evenings. Coors Field is one of my favorite ballparks and has great food and lots of beers on tap. In the Highlands area, our favorite brunch spot is Sassafras. The Southern food is delicious and my personal favorite is the fried green tomato Benedict.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad sparked my love for the outdoors from a young age. Most of my favorite childhood memories involve being out on backpacking adventures, skiing on powder days, and my first hunting and fishing trips. He taught me how to tie a fly and read waters, but also the importance of conservation and respecting our wild spaces.
