We had the good fortune of connecting with Debbie Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Debbie, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Indy & Olly’s is a for-purpose dog bandana and bow tie company. Social impact through helping homeless dogs find homes is the reason we exist!
For every item sold, we donate one to an animal shelter or rescue. The bandanas and bow ties improve adoption photos by making dogs look their best and stand out. From personal experience, I know good photos work because as soon as I saw the adoption picture of Olly, I immediately fell in love and had to meet her! Also, at adoption events, we love putting the adult dogs in bandanas or bow ties to make them look cute since puppies often get all the attention.
We support all types of organizations with our donations, from breed-specific to fosters to some of the largest shelters out there. With that being said, we are always looking to add new partners to donate to as well. The more homeless dogs we can help find homes, the better!
Another way our business supports the animal rescue community is spreading the spay/neuter message everywhere we can. It is in all our marketing materials, included every month in Love & Wags: The Indy & Olly’s Newsletter and “please spay & neuter” stickers are placed on each package shipped. We also sponsor at least one spay/neuter surgery each year through NBRAN, National Brittany Rescue & Adoption Network, the organization who saved our Olly girl.
What should our readers know about your business?
Giving back in such a big way with our wear one, give one business model sets us apart. Another thing that makes us unique is that customers have a personalized experience because they can select where the bandana or bow tie gets donated to.
We are proud to make a difference in the lives of dogs by helping them find their forever homes. We love partnering with shelter and rescue organizations to get dogs adopted.
Here at Indy & Olly’s, we LOVE dogs and are most excited about making our fur friends happy!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start the day off by going to a local coffee shop and then take in the Colorado outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and amazing mountain views! Hiking (or snowshoeing in the winter) would be a must! Of course, a CO trip wouldn’t be complete without viewing some of our amazing wildlife. So, I’d grab my camera and we’d be off looking for elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, bald eagles or any other creature to watch and admire from afar. A drive up Mt. Evans to watch a gorgeous sunset would complete the day.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my husband Seth! He is beside me every step of the way loving me (& our doggies!), offering support and encouraging me to pursue my passions. From brainstorming business ideas, to spending countless hours cutting fabric, sewing and making tags for the dog bandanas, he’s there for me no matter what.
