We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree (Papoosedoll) Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree (Papoosedoll), what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are uncomfortable & scary. Commonly we want to be comfortable and play everything safe. For me however the best outcomes have been by taking risks. From leaving the club scene where I made large sums of money to spending a big part of my savings to start up my own businesses. Investments are the best risks you can take. Even if it doesn’t end up working out you don’t have the thought of thinking what if AND you never know what kind of door it will open or lead to. Life has a way of giving back what you put out. All you have to do is show up.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As of today as far as business I am most proud of @bronzedandwhipped. I am a Certified Spray Tan Artist & Teeth Whitening Specialist. I managed to get certified and into my own office within less than a month. Was it easy? I’d say yes but no. Consistency has been they key to all my success. I was doing Spray Tans out of my apartment surrounded by white furniture so there’s that lol. I am also proud of my marketing business @poppyleads. This has allowed me to work from home in my underpants lol. Not to shabby eh.
Ultimately I have learned to take risks & to always show up. In the end it’s all a numbers game.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well if the weather is nice I would definitely go to Red Rocks for either a good workout or concert. Concerts are the most live at Red Rocks in my personal opinion.

We would definitely go out for Sushi at Mizu Izakaya . It has such a sexy vibe so you can’t over dress & the food is yummy.

We would definitely have to go to Sipping n’ Painting Highlands. It’s always nice to create art with a friend.

Club wise we would go to Beta. Not only because it’s a cool spot but because my face is painted on the wall Lmaoo.

Strip club wise we would have to hit up my good ol stomping grounds at Platinum84 lol. Still and always my favorite strip club. 🙂

& for breakfast I would take them to First Watch just because that’s my favorite spot to get breakfast. 🙂

No specific order but I could take my friend to Taco Bell & it would still be a good time lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely love this question. My biggest motivation are my babies, they push me to think smarter & quick. Most importantly I want to thank the father of my children for always being on my butt on not “wasting” my potential at the club lol. Though I knew I was going to get out someday it was nice to have that push to get out lol. Not knocking the club scene because it’s a great way to make money, however I believe there is always a time to say goodbye. It’s an exhausting job lol. All my friends are such go getters and I’m so grateful to be surrounded by strong independent women. I’d say my 2 biggest inspirations of the year would be my friend Jennie Intavong & Alythia Tellez.
Jennie runs an Asbestos company with her husband called @rockiesenviromental & Alythia Tellez runs her own Body Sculpting business called @Bodysuitedenver. I’ve got to witness them both build their businesses & I think it’s truely amazingly. They are both amazing mommies & that’s the kind of women I want to be surrounded by forever.
The company you keep around influences your environment. Oh and how can I forget. My Mother in Law Kathryn Bauer. Another woman business owner of Driveways Plus. She has guided me on how to start my own business & taught me how to think and always do my homework before making business decisions. I don’t know what I would do without her!
& last but not least God. He has been so good to me & my family & I am forever grateful.
