We had the good fortune of connecting with Dev Dior and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dev, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is perseverance. Despite difficulties and things trying to stop or delay my success, but I’ve always been determined for more. Being an entrepreneur is literally the process of getting up, and trying again.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO of Skin by Dev. SBD is an accessible, luxury skincare brand made for those with sensitive skin types. We are an organic, vegan and cruelty free brand because we believe that it’s not the fancy bottle that matters, it’s the quality of the product. People deserve more than just cute packaging and overrated, overpriced products. They deserve love. Skin by Dev are more than just skincare and body care products, we are self love and self confidence, because we care. When you look good you feel good, and those are some the values we stand behind as a brand along with women empowerment, equality and skin / body positivity.

I’ve faced multiple challenges within this journey so far.. first just getting out of my own head and starting was the hardest part. I didn’t know if I had what it took to start my own business nor the guidance, as I’m a first generation entrepreneur. I’ve faced financial hardship and having to choose to put my business on hold to return to work, to not knowing how to even relaunch or market my business.. I’ve literally had to just roll with the punches and learn as I go. But that alone is entrepreneurship defined in one statement. If you wait until you’re “ready”, you’ll never start. Do what makes you happy, chase your dreams and your passions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Firstly, I would take them to downtown Denver to enjoy some food and drinks at a rooftop bar / lounge. We would then go to a local club / bar hopping to catch the nightlife vibes. For food out here, I would take them to the Jamaican restaurant in montbello. We would finish off the week going hiking or finding an adventurous activity in the mountains or maybe hit the hot spring.
