Meet Doublewide | Food Truck

We had the good fortune of connecting with Doublewide and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doublewide, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Coming from traditional kitchen backgrounds, we were constantly working long days, overtime hours and holidays. As we’ve opened our own business and gained more freedom, we have found much more comfort in spending time doing the things we love outside of work, and spending more time with our loved ones. We believe that it’s very important to balance work and life. It’s very easy and common in this industry to be very invested in work life, but we believe it’s important to take the time you need as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Doublewide focuses on using high quality products and techniques to make food that separates ours apart from others! While there’s many people making burgers, we believe ours is one of the best and most delicious around! We are proud of all of our products and are very excited about what the future holds for Doublewide. We got where we are today by learning many techniques throughout our career but mainly just going for it, and toughing it out through the ups and downs! It wasn’t easy, but we overcame challenges by staying persistent and figuring it out!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s crazy, if you just follow Doublewide around, it’s kind of like a little itinerary. You get a place to hang out, a place to eat, and a place to drink. We post our weekly schedule and are almost always posted up at a brewery or fun event! Check out the instagram @doublewide.co!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Probably one of the most influential experiences that Kevin and I had as young chefs, was when we both worked at Mercantile Dining and Provisions under Matt Vawter and Alex Seidel. It’s where we met and many of the things we learned there helped us grow into the chefs we are today.
