Meet Doug Yetman | Realtor® with Live Urban Real Estate and Co-Founder of the Horseshoe Market

We had the good fortune of connecting with Doug Yetman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doug, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think that the risks that I have taken in my professional career have been focused around a desire to share and explore a particular passion or field, having a process-driven mindset that has helped me achieve the goal, a willingness to try something new (and fail!) and a confidence that I am willing to work very hard to achieve the goal.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel very lucky to be able to wear two distinct professional hats. I am a top-producing, full-time Realtor® with what I consider the top boutique real estate firm in Denver, Live Urban Real Estate. Also, for over a decade, I have been the operations director and co-owner of the Horseshoe Market. For me, the roles have always been well integrated and start with the same goals: 1: Serve the needs customer/client. 2. Hustle to make the process as simple, fun and seamless as possible. 3. Build trust and confidence to help serve the end goal. 4. Hopefully make the process as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. In both roles, I am an enthusiastic and empathetic supporter of the people with whom I work. Both vendors and customers at the Horseshoe Market–and real estate clients–have distinct goals of what kind of experience they want to have. I strive to support them, be an advocate and guide for hopefully realizing their goals. As an event director and organizer, I am always trying to think ahead and anticipate next steps to help make any process smoother and more effective. That kind of forethought is a skill that I continue to try to practice in real estate, too. In both roles, I am here to serve and I take great pride in seeing people reach their goals!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
*Huge asterisk….this is what I would do if we were not in the middle of a global pandemic. 🙂 Outside of Denver, my soul is most at peace when I am in Buena Vista, in Chaffee County. The still-as-yet-unspoiled town of just under 3000 people offers so much: stunning views and access to the Collegiate Peaks, endless hikes and recreation opportunities (rafting, fishing, canoeing and more!), a rejuvenating hot-springs, abundant wildlife, a quaint-but-hip downtown, and some amazing locally owned restaurants, bars and shops.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents are very clearly my greatest influence for my professional path. My father was a professor and my mother was an entrepreneur and both deeply loved what they did! They both worked extremely hard, had great success and were admired by their respective communities. In their own ways, they both devoted themselves to their crafts, fully and deeply. Both had a work ethic and drive–and a love of what they did–that made them successful. My wife and partner at the Horseshoe Market has also been integral part of my story. She too is the child of an entrepreneur, so no wonder that we have forged a pretty good partnership, taking risks and charting our own course in businesses and working our rears off!
