We had the good fortune of connecting with Elijah Trujillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elijah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After graduating from Los Angeles Film School, I realized that I wanted to continue growing creatively in a direction that allowed me to share my passion for connecting with others. I know that my potential reached higher than working under a company or a strict set of rules and I was driven to create those goals myself. My mind is too big to be capped under someone else’s dream; I carve my own path in this life and the drive and obsession I have for filmmaking was just the beginning to a realization I can chase my own dreams.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is the direct reflection of how I see the world. I recreate this in my filmmaking to not only provoke emotion but also bring other people’s ideas to life. Everyday, I am excited about my next shoot day. I create shoots for myself wether that be user generated content, project-based short films, or individual videos I can use across my social medias. The project I am most excited about is the content I’m creating for my VFX training and 3D rendering. I will be able to showcase my progress over time as I build a portfolio to help me reach my ultimate dream of working as a VFX supervisor. Getting to the point I am at now in my career was not easy and learning how to work past rejection was most my valuable lesson. On top of staying motivated and maintaining tunnel-vision, I also practiced the art of mediation, writing gratuity lists, and taking time to ground myself. My brand is the bridge between business visions and cinematic storytelling.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit me for a week in Colorado Springs, the first stop would be to take a hike up Pulpit Rock. Afterwards, we would head to Viewhouse for some burgers, fries, and a side of gin and tonic. Over the next few days, I would have to show him a good time at Coatis, a walk through Manitou, and a drive up to Denver. The best spots in Denver include: 54Thirty Rooftop, Kyoto Ramen, and any of the taco trucks parked at 2AM.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like thank the support from my family throughout the years through my multiple business endeavors, many late night talks, and pushing me towards the career dream that is now my reality.
